Here are some more great commercials that aired on Cartoon Network from 10 years ago. I think by this time you can see a change in Cartoon Network with their original series being cancelled and removed from the network and when we get live-action stuff coming into the network. Recorded during Baby Looney Tunes, The Land Before Time: The Series, Bugs Bunny's 1001 Rabbit Tales, and A Pup Named Scooby-Doo

Well he did use a VHS to record it, which was still outdated even in 2008. Most people were using DVR by then, so the video appears older than it really is.

metalfaust19 ive always thought it was less the commercials and more the fact that they help you remember how things were when you saw them, I remember watching a lot of these after school in the living room or in my room before my mom started working again and remembering how easy I had it, really gets to me. FloydTrek bro. Its been 11 years. The people who grew up in the 90s looked at their childhood entertainment in 2008 like we do this in 2019. You realize theres a whole new generation of 8 year olds now and were all 18+? Every 10 years is basically a new generation. 20s-now there have been different trends and things that change every 10ish years. I know 2008 feels like just a few years ago but man people that were 8 and 9 then have kids now. Its been a while.

Hi-speed wireless internet was way more than wireless dsl. My parents had it along with everyone else I knew back then. 2009 was the year everything was starting to switch over to wireless hi-speed internet without a price increase depending on the phone or cable carrier.

It really wasn't, Nintendo Wi-Fi connection launched in 2006. You could even buy a Wi-Fi dongle to plug into your computer through USB if your router didn't have Wi-Fi built-in.

Notes: * CN did know that Camp Lazlo ended, right? Using it for the "Get Animated" thing is a little awkward, especially thanks to it's infamous ending. * Yeah, CN loved to use shows like Baby Looney Toons, that Land Before Time series and A Pup Named Scooby Doo as not only fillers, but sorta trying to get the 7 year and under market in a suble way... * "Jimmy's Head". Phbt, and then it doesn't even show up in the "CN Thursday Night" promo...but is in the CN.com commercial. So...that balances it out? * Dynamite Action Squad was and still is awesome. That is all. * I think shorts for Foster's are surprisingly rare and tricky to find. Dunno if this is considered on the "lost media" side, but it's still nice.

I only had cable at my grandma's. She lived 15 minutes away up in Maine and my mom would take us there to stay when she was at work and my dad wasn't around (he travels for work). Around summertime my brother and I would stay a lot more- we'd sleep over for 2-3 days just for fun. Some of my favorite memories were honestly just sitting in the TV room and turning on Cartoon Network. My grandma would bring in amazing snacks. Blueberries with powdered sugar, grape juice ice cubes, xtreme cheddar goldfish with grapes, TV dinners (the ones with the chicken nuggets and pudding with star sprinkles), etc. Our favorite shows were Chowder, Flapjack, Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends, Billy and Mandy, Flapjack, and literally anything else that was on. I'd never change the channel on a Cartoon Network show. I remember one time we were in the middle of a really bad hurricane with a tornado watch (which is super rare in New England), and instead of being scared, my grandma took me into her room and let me lie on her bed to watch Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends with her. I'd stare at the commercials imagining owning the toys I knew I would never be able to have. I never complained about not being able to have them, I just knew inside me it was kind of ridiculous to ask for cookie cereal or a giant super soaker, but it was still fun to imagine. Around christmas time we'd get catalogs from Toys R Us and Target and Walmart and I'd sit on the floor in the TV room circling what I want in the catalog with sharpie, and if I saw a commercial for something I wanted, I'd write it in the margins. I asked for one of those Fur Real Friends life sized ponies every year at Christmas. I never got one lol. Adults complain about kids and how they spend all their time in front of the TV but honestly I made great memories watching TV with my brother and my cousins and my grandma and grandpa that I'd never get to experience again today. EDIT: I got to the Heelys commercial and wanted to add that my dad promised to get my brother and I our own pair of Heelys if we both got honor roll on our report cards. We did, and when we got to the shoe store, we found out that they were banned that very day from all stores. F
