From my VHS recordings, here are some misc. bumpers, commercials and promos from Cartoon Network in January/February 2002. These were mostly taken from episodes of "Thundercats", which aired at 6 am in the morning at this time.
"Thundercats" by this point was no longer part of Toonami, and so the bumpers used here during commercial breaks are the generic "action cartoon" bumpers that had been in use since 1997 or 1998. Also, I didn't get full commercial breaks, but there were some oddities I captured here that I figured I'd share. This gives you a small picture of what Cartoon Network was like in early 2002.
Included here:
1. Cartoon Network "coming up next" bumper. This includes a reference to "New Years Eve-il"!, the Toonami special that aired late on December 31st, 2001. And....I think I recorded over it with Thundercats episodes. Ah well, others have uploaded the bumpers from that Toonami classic event.
2. "Justice League" series promo (the long version showcasing every superhero). "Justice League" was so brand new at this point, only 5 or 7 episodes had aired by January 1st, 2002....
3. A very strange "Slim Jim" commercial...
4. Cartoon Network "You're watching" bumper. This and the next few are what would air during commercial breaks of Thundercats.
5. Cartoon Network "We'll be back!" bumper
6. Cartoon Network "Now back to the action!" bumper
7. "Dear Bandit" Cartoon Network bumper (one of a series of bumpers where "Bandit" the dog from Jonny Quest "answers questions").
8. Cartoon Network action cartoon bumper (starring Igoo from the Herculoids)
9. The last few seconds of an "Entertainment Weekly" commercial (I included it just to share the "Ben and Gwyneth: Are they a couple?" cover, from December 2000).
10. Cartoon Network action cartoon bumper (featuring "Birdman")
11. Cartoon Network commercial (kind of a "what happens to Cartoon Network when all of the cartoons call in sick?")
12. Cartoon Network action cartoon bumper (featuring all of the Herculoids)
13. The last few seconds of an "Easy Rock" CD commercial.
14. "Ed Edd n Eddy" in Prime Time promo
15. Cartoon Network action cartoon bumper (featuring "Batman")
16. Cartoon Network "Groovies" (featuring the song "L'amour A Une Odeur" by "Pink Martini", starring Pepé Le Pew). This is one of the more obscure "Groovies", I think.
17. Cartoon Network action cartoon bumper (starring Igoo from the Herculoids).
Commentary: It was December 2001, and I was paying attention to the Cartoon Network schedule and noticed that Thundercats was being brought back and restarting with episode 1, airing Monday through Friday at 6 am (the first episode started on Monday, December 31st, 2001), and so I started recording the episodes again. As a childhood Thundercats fan, this was the 3rd time in my life I had attempted to record all episodes on VHS.
And yeah, I didn't get all of the episodes recorded, I gave up again about around late February, or maybe early March, in 2002. There's a lot of episodes of that "Thundercats", so I would miss one or two and then shortly thereafter give up. Little did I know DVD's (and eventually streaming) would solve my attempts to catch every episode of the classic 80's cartoon.
Stay tuned, more to come!

There was an interesting history when it came to the 6 am slot at this time, I think they even aired reruns of ReBoot at that slot because of the movie premieres.
