@@flax72l.a13 not keeping 1 show air for the entirety of the run time of December. Seasonal episodes? Nope. Seasonal movie classics? Nope. Classics? Nope. You get mute.
I think it's cause the last episode was suuuuuper wierd and kinda "ruined" the show. I use quotes cause It's been a while since I watched the show so i don't know what the general consensus is.
@@RetroIsaac Yeah don't know why they tried to cross it over with Rocko's modern life. I mean I get the guy made that show to but really could have been better. Also could have been better.
Something cool I recall after seeing the invaded event live is that they actually aired the pilot episode of courage after the final invaded episode which was the first time I've seen the pilot for courage after watching the show for years (thinking about courage would've been fitting for the invaded event)
yes this became cartoon networks greatest special event during may of 2007 & during april of 2008 I officially decided each year starting may of 2008 im commemorating this cartoon network special event during 1st week of may & each day during may until memorial day every year & I do this every year once april & is 1st week of may & this is how I celebrate every memorial day including doing other memorial day traditions & I watch any movie released during may
I find it a funny that I was just talking about this crossover with a friend a few days ago only to see this video on the subject. Damn time flies by fast and I was only 10 when I saw it in 2007.
I found it crazy that when I found this video it was recommended from a cartoon network live stream that started apparently just a few days after this dropped
yes this event was from a while ago & yes this was cartoon networks greatest special event during may of 2007 with these 5 of cartoon networks best shows during that year having these special episodes in this made this considerably appreciable & this was during when I use to have directv & during april of 2008 I officially decided im commemorating this "cartoon network invaded" starting may of 2008 & every year during 1st week of may & each day during may until memorial day & commemorating cartoon network invaded each year during may is how I celebrate memorial day including doing these classic memorial day traditions I also watch movies released during this month including marvel 1's like this weekend im watching new guardians of the galaxy movie also because already is 1st week of may this friday evening im watching cartoon network invaded's 1st episode "cheese a go-go" like how I do every 1st friday of may & I shall watch other these other cartoon network invaded episodes this month
I remember when this was a thing. They heavily advertised this event back in the day. I thought it was cool back then. Nowadays, it’s not as exciting since it was only reduced to like 1 or 2 cameos. The episodes themselves were pretty good tho. Edit: 3:11 So, that explains why the aliens were after cheese.
Fun Fact: In Cheese-a-go-go, when in the Movie theater, the Movie playing in the background is actually just a recreated scene from Camp Lazlo where Samson gets abducted
Ok, I remember so damn long ago when they played this crossover. They had like a fosters home for imaginary friends episode about aliens and blue being crazy about aliens. It was supposed to be part 1 and yet I never saw a part 2 to that , I need to see part 2
I think seeing the aliens trying to take the moon from the knd would be cool because the moon base was removed from the moon once before and I don't think they would let that happen again
I can remember beaning so hyped for this and then when it came out being disappointed I don't remember any of the individual episodes ether. Even the Ed , Edd and Eddy one, which was my favourite CN cartoon.
I remember I would always be on the CN website playing all of their flash games. I remember playing twister, (but I didn’t know it was made for the event), beaned was ok, outer space trace was whack, I don’t remember playing lighten up but I do remember the cover art and the best one of them all has to be magnet face. Magnet face had great animation, the way it played didn’t feel cheap and the story line was better. I miss playing those flash games
I remember watching this event. I think the Ed Edd and Eddy special was my favorite. I'm surprised this never made it to DVD, though. Or maybe it did and I just can't find it.
I remember watching all of the episodes from this event, I like the episodes that we were given, especially the Ed Edd ‘n’ Eddy, Camp Lazlo, and Billy & Mandy ones, but I can obviously tell that this was meant to promote Kraft Mac & Cheese products, which doesn’t work for a brand like Cartoon Network, it could work better for Nickelodeon, Nintendo, and even Disney, since they make a lot money out of their IPs since they have a wider appeal for family and kids, Cartoon Network doesn’t do that approach since they care more about animation and art, rather than the money.
This seems exactly like the crossover deal the USA cartoons had, where some barbarian looking guy with a magic orb traveled between dimensions, ending up in Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Savage Dragon and Wing Commander.
Fun fact, this cross over was forced apun the creator of these shows over a kraft cheese promotion that fell through last minute but was still forced to be made. Nobody wanted to do these episodes which... explains a lot
The Eds’ special was hilarious actually, but they just had to make everyone else’s so disappointing. The way the Cul De Sac got lifted away from Earth by the aliens, that was epic. But Bloo getting in trouble for mistaking Cheese as an alien, and Lazlo and his friends not seeing the aliens, those were major let downs. Really it was only with My Gym Partner’s a Monkey and the end credits of this event where the crossover element came into play, and it did not deliver. They seemed to have something going with the goal of acquiring Cheese, but it was only in the Camp Lazlo episode where that was explicitly mentioned. It would’ve been much better if they created additional specials for the likes of the Powerpuff Girls or Courage the Cowardly Dog, get them involved as a way to drive away these alien scumbags.
15:54 I think the reason why Kids Next Door wasn't part of this was because, like Billy and Mandy, it would have only made sense for it to be the last episode. And they probably thought Billy and Mandy was the better choice. But, Billy and Mandy could have been the 4th show where more aliens come to earth and try to get more cheese. They're trying to get cheese, but Billy somehow messes things up and this somehow ruins their plans. Then the 5th show could have been Kids Next Door
ive always been conflicted on the idea of them including ben10 on one hand it is the perfect themed show for this event and such an episode would fit in the show...but thats a two edged sword that kindof presents a problem and thats that an Invaded Ben10 episode would not really stand out compared to other episodes in the series.
It dosent help that it would happen in a world where it’s very,VERY clear that aliens exist, and there’s already a big bad guy trying to take over earth
1:41 I was hoping that he was gonna be like "Im not seven years old anymore, im 23 and I only crapped my pants a little but but trust me they are completly dry atleast"
Magnet face was good, Grim gave Billy magnet powers to aid in his escape from a spaceship. Youd hold z and a field would apear, the longer youd hold it the bigger it get, youd move boxes, grind rails with your face, stuff like that. I loved it.
After Season 3 the show went kinda awful and cringe at times, Bloo turned more annoying, everyone started acting flanderized, the animation felt like cheap flash at moments.
@@uncannydcmarvelous5732 I find it a double standard that people always point to Bloo flanderzation but ignore Eddy and Mandy's a those 2 become meaner as well
It really could have been amazing I remember thinking it was so cool as a kid and then being let down at the end but I still think it’s a cool idea overall. Crossovers were awesome as a kid but nowadays they’ve overdone crossovers or they’re just bad
& this was considered until june of 2007 because on june 1st 2007 cartoon network invaded had an alternate ending which was entire plot of this alien race in this invasion & special event & this alternate ending showed that cartoon network invaded definitely was a conspiracy an alien conspiracy & ufo conspiracy
I forgot all about this. The only thing I remember is that scene with Bloo finding out Cheese looks like an alien. I thought it was scary at the time. -So I guess I didn't forget ALL about this but when I was a young boy my father-
The Billy and Mandy one is easily the best one. Fun Fact: Moon the Moon was actually the last produced Billy and Mandy episode making it the final one made but not in airing order.
I think I've been asking this question for years now. Somebody, anybody, please tell me! Why in the name of God do the aliens want to replace the humans and cheese with cardboard cutouts after they win?!
yes & because this became cartoon networks best event during may of 2007 during april of 2008 I officially decided starting may I shall commemorate this cartoon network special event each year during 1st week of may & continue to commemorate each day until memorial day & commemorating this event is also how I celebrate memorial day including watching movies released during may including marvel 1's & doing other memorial day celebrations & traditions
Magnet face was interesting I had only seen one of these cross over episodes and it was Billy and Mandy and you basically play as Billy who’s face is magnetized and drag boxes into the aliens
While I don't have all the shows that the cartoon network invasion thing happened in yet, it was certainly a weird one. And, with camp Lazlo and the grim adventures of Billy and Mandy, while I do get that the latter is practically centered around the supernatural, but didn't both have at least one or two episodes/made for TV movie's that centered around aliens? I know with Billy and Mandy, they had what's his name come for Grim, and he left willingly with this trunk. And camp Lazlo, I know they had Sampson have that weird looking jellyfish attach itself to him and have him say and act crazy. I forget if there were other episodes, but still.
i feel ben 10 would have fit too well with the theme. it is 'special' with the others because they either don't deal with these sorts of threats, or their unorthodox and improvised methods would be fun to watch. Ben 10 deals with aliens on a near daily basis that it would have felt like a regular episode,.
I loved the ed edd eddy crossover episode mainly it being the one I watched the most I kinda remember the Billy and Mandy one same with lazlo’s episode, but never gym partners (didn’t like the show)
@@ZeroOmens Fax. But my nostalgia won't let me stand for any invaded slander lol. I just want to make it clear I'm playing it was a good video, man : )
I remember going to school in 3rd or 4th grade and everyone talking about this. I remember the promos for these being crazy. I miss the city era. Had more creativity then. Also yes on Billy and Mandy iceberg.
yes best cartoon network special event during may of 2007 & during april of 2008 (which was a year later) I officially decided starting may of 2008 I shall commemorate this cartoon network event during 1st week of may & continue to commemorate each day during may until memorial day each year & commemorating cartoon network invaded every year during may is also how I celebrate memorial day including watching movies released during this month including marvel 1's & doing other memorial day celebrations
@@nicholassims9837 You realize there is a difference right? Cartman is a character that we are made to hate. That we enjoy seeing him fail in his schemes because of his personality. Also see: Dennis from Sunny Eddy from Ed, Edd, and Eddy (though less narcissistic and more inferiority complex) Blu has similar traits of of those characters (although admittedly less malicious), but the way the stories are written often has Blu experiencing barely any consequences, times coming out on top, and rarely learning anything from the experience and is portrayed as if we should be rooting for him in the end to succeed in whatever he’s doing to ultimately cover his ass.
What’s crazy to me with this event is I completely forgot about the event but remember every single one of these episodes. They’re so disjointed as an “event” that they work fine as regular episodes
I kinda wish they did they did this again not only with new shows but also old show. Of course not all of them, I don't see how things like over the garden wall or infinity train could fit in a narrative with regular show or billy and mandy but it would be cool if they tried this again without the idea of it being a marketing gimmick
& I also remember this event so thoroughly which became greatest cartoon network special event during may of 2007 & during april of 2008 (a year later) I officially starting may of 2008 & every year during 1st week of may & each day during may until memorial day each year to commemorate this cartoon network special event & commemorating this cartoon network special event each day during may until memorial day is also how I celebrate memorial day every year including doing other traditional memorial day celebrations & I watch movies released during may & I use to have directv during this
"Alas poor billy destined to walk the supulchered streets of suburbia: a doomed husk of a child. Do not cry for him. DO NOT CRY!!" - Sir Raven from Billy and Mandy
You know, if you think about it, Pibby is kinda like a soft version of this concept. If that ever becomes a series I would not be surprised if it takes some cues from this.
CN Invaded was probably the best block I’ve seen back of May 2007!!!! Man wasn’t that block was funny interesting and a bit dark but the Ed Edd and Eddy episode damn!!! The camp Lazlo episode was probably one of the weirdest in the most strangest i’ve seen only because of how the three aliens just want to cheese and at the end of the episode the people who came for the cheese festival all of a sudden freaked out because of the aliens or the cheese were all gone and the ran off screaming and I couldn’t comprehend what the hell I just happened even to this day like WTF??? My gym partner’s a monkey was funny and enjoyable But the platypus was something😂. Foster’s home was another memorable episode and that was just funny and I can’t believe dad it was so intense especially that she is actually an alien. Billy and Mandy was just the coolest one with dark humor which I really enjoy and I love Spreg was singing the dandy song and ended up Getting exploded damn😂. Overall, this is just an amazing block and I really wish they would do something like this again in the future!!!
yes this became cartoon networks best event during may of 2007 & during april of 2008 I officially decided starting may I shall commemorate cartoon network invaded each year during 1st week of may & continue to commemorate each day throughout may until memorial day & commemorating this special event is also how I celebrate memorial day every year including watching movies released during may including marvel 1's
I played the Billy And Mandy flash game for this crossover a ton as a kid but I never knew this crossover existed until recent. I guess I didn't miss out on much knowing the backstory to it.
@@ZeroOmens also I just heard that cartoon network invaded was going to have 6 shows in it because I remembered seeing a promo poster for a hihi puffy Ami Yumi episode for cartoon network invaded during those times but I didn't see such and episode air with those 5 episodes
It wasn't great but I gotta say I enjoyed it as a kid until as a Adult you realize it was one big commercial Plus I think another reason its hated as it is , was due to it essentially being the End of Cartoon Network city as well
I never knew this was a crossover event! But I remember the Ed Edd and Eddy episode and it gave me nightmares😂 how that dream went from so happy to the distortion in the background as the cul de sac is stolen gave me the heebee jeebies😂
wait wait wait... i remember the KND ending showing up on tv... i remember that being the proper ending of the event...even though i'm from Central America (specifically Belize) we , until recently getting the American version of Cartoon Network and remembering watching the event.
@@TheGenomario ugh no unfortunately cus i think by the time this event happened our VHS machine was long gone and i didn't have my own proper smart phone
I remember seeing two as a kid that being Ed Ed Eddy and my gym partner my personal favorite is Ed Ed and Eddy and I really miss billy and Mandy a iceberg video be cool
If you are still reading these comments, a grim adventures of Billy and Mandy iceberg would be great when you get the chance. Also, I thought of another invaded storyline for a certain show that being chowder.
I saw every episode of everything on Cartoon Network growing up the 2nd it aired I saw this whole event take place and I do not remember the 3 aliens taking over the network in between episodes during the bumpers, I can't believe I don't remember them
I also did & this was from a while ago & this became cartoon networks greatest event during may of 2007 & a year later during april of 2008 I officially decided each year im commemorating this cartoon network invaded starting may of 2008 since april & may of 2008 I do commemorate cartoon network invaded each year during 1st week of may & each day during may until memorial day which is how I celebrate memorial day I also watch movies released during may & do traditional classic memorial day traditions
I played Magnet Base a lot as a kid, but I loveeeddd billy and Mandy side scrollers. So I’m not one to say whether or not it was good. Definitely not as good as the OTHER Billy and Mandy side scroller though. That game was goated.
regarding the flash games, I played ALL of them, and ALL of them were incredibly fun! But there is one weird but interesting thing about one of them. I remember Outer Space Trace having this incredibly emotional beautiful soundtrack that would make me cry, it was so melancholic sounding, I wish I could listen to it again...
I ONLY ever saw the "Ed, Edd, 'n Eddy" episode and thought it was weird cause of the ending, I NEVER knew this event was even a thing 😮 I still miss those bumpers, they were awesome, plus this crossover, really shows a special era of television that's gone now
yes great cartoon network event & this is why I commemorate this cartoon network special event each year during 1st week of may & continue to commemorate each day during may until memorial day which is a tradition on how I celebrate memorial day every year including watching movies released during may including these marvel 1's & doing other classic memorial day traditions & I use to have directv during this event
Personally, if asked how the Cartoon Network invaded specials should`ve been, I`d go all in with the crossover aspect for the 5 shows along with several others. In a multi-part special the alien invaders attack all the cartoon worlds dimensions and attempt to destroy it for some reason (like to get all the cheese from the dimensions or to find the smartest characters and drain them of their intelligence in order to get smarter themselves). Amid the chaos and humor, the major characters end up meeting each other and go through some situations: -The KND fighting the “My Gym Partners A Monkey” cast after ending up in the animals world, due to the former crew thinking the latter are like the evil teens they often face (as they are middle schoolers) along with a character (such as Gottfried’s platypus) misleading the two groups for his own antagonistic reasons, before an understanding is formed and the two groups join forces to stop the bigger threat in a surprisingly heartfelt scene. -The camps of Kidney & Acorn Flats (Camp Lazlo) and Wawanakwa (Total Drama) merging due to an alien rays effects, which leads to a scenario where some of the first generation cast and anthro scouts partake in an escape from the main invaders that doubles as an epic challenge Chris McLean tries to exploit for ratings, with Lumpus (the only scoutmaster not captured by the invaders) eagerly going along with it when he hears the amount of cash he might get through royalties. The Kidney & Squirrel Scouts pre-existing rivalry alongside some harsher character’s personalities (Gretchen, Edward and Heather primarily) easily offer moments of drama the reality show is known for (also, in the end Chris and Lumpus get some brutal karma by getting stuck in the challenge themselves for the rest of the invasion). -The cul de sac kids of “Ed, Edd n Eddy” try to save Rolf like the original special, only for the twist to be that Rolf discovered the main cast of “Courage the Cowardly Dog” in his yard earlier and invited them in for a traditional dinner from his home country (as their personalities resemble some of his relatives). The other part of the twist shows that Courage was trying to stop the aliens, who took over his world while indirectly sending him and his humans to the other show. Courage would be keeping the real invaders back while the kids would face off against the false squid ones, with different perspectives of both events playing back to back (also, I imagined this scene where one of the teams from the camps crossover challenge make a brief cameo running by Rolfs house before the kids show up, due to some sort of paradox). After the cul-de-sac is taken by the mothership, I`d then picture The Powerpuff Girls would save the group after their own episode. -Other shows like Fosters Home For Imaginary Friends, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Mao Mao Heroes of Pure Heart, Scooby-Doo, Regular Show, Adventure Time, Steven Universe, 6teen, the original 2003 Teen Titans and Sheep in the Big City also get involved, though I still have no idea how there segments play out. The big finale would have all the shows meet up and take on the invasion force like the climax of Avengers: Endgame, set in the Cartoon Network bumpers city. After the main alien leader gets dumbed down from draining the most stupid characters’ brainpower, the invaders get defeated and the worlds and characters are returned to their proper places (though a majority of the crew’s memories of the invasion are erased due to the nearby KND`s decommission device triggering, thus bringing all the worlds back to their status quo).
Its funny now that you mention it, i felt with the similar type of aliens invading cn shows but it made me wonder how they travel since the seperate shows were probably like different universes. In my headcannon, there was an incident in heroes united with the null void made ben10 gone to generator rex universe and the invaded aliens were one of the individuals (next to the alpha nanite from gen rex). This might be off, to be fair, since ben 10 might have came after the invaded event but ben 10 had the null void as a dimension. E.g. in Half life, xen was like a sewer of the multiverse that the alien empire called compine traveled through to earth for conquest. This makes me wonder what other threat come next, since the okko crossover event had the CN city and i feel a fusionfall era is set after a potential "convergence" between worlds of old CN shows.
