In this one, we jump into part 2 of my deer skull carving! I go through and refine all of the details, and then add a glaze coat on top to make everything pop! I think it came out looking fantastic! Let me know what you think in the comment section below! Afterward, I open up a package of absolutely incredible Michigan stones and fossils that were sent in by a viewer! I hope you enjoy, and I have a very special video planned for next time! Thank you all so much for your support; it truly means the world to me!
Don't Miss Part 1! You can find it right here!:

HAHAHA didn't expect to see you open it in a video. :) I like the work you are doing on the skull The one with the jaspers mixed in quartzite is puddingstone. The deep red one is a rust septarian stone, not sure how much calcite is within it but.... maybe you can do something with it. When I get to the south shores of Lake Michigan I will get you some nice septarians there if you want. The tan porus one is all shells (calcite I believe) in some matrix --- or Barite maybe, common around here. If you cut some just right you will get the shell on one side and the imprint on the other. The one colored tanish with orbs kinda and pinkish (porus) is Jacobsville formation sandstone, yup its a thing LOLOLOLOLOL Let me know as you work with any of them which ones youlike and I will happily send you more, happy to help you with your craft. They are free and I just find them all over when I walk

Of course I had to show it! There was just so much amazing stuff in there, and it was SUCH an incredibly generous thing to do that I had to! Seriously, you are the best! 😁 I don't know if you got my email, but I'm getting your box sent to you soon, I already had quite a bit of stuff packed for you but after I opened your package, I had to get a bigger box to load up so I could adequately thank you! I was just in awe over those fossils and the unakite! I've never gotten to work with puddingstone but I imagine it will look great after a polish! Thank you so much! 😊

@@TheoKellison HAHAHA I wrote a note over 15 hours ago on the notifications section and that does not work I am learning. Yes got the email and, no worries take your time. On the pudding, if you need any information about them and polishing look to Michigan Rocks as others have stated. He has polished huge ones, they are not easy because of the massive grain of the quartzite sadly. I have a 65 pounder in my yard now, found it on our private road It is so funny, I found some other really awesome pieces just a few days after sending the box HAHAHAHA plus a neighbor shared some tumbled LSA (Lake Superior Agates) and super nice moss agate that he found maybe next time please let me know about the Michigan Pinks I included, IE if you think they are fully agates LOL. I am pretty sure they are but your opinion would be nice I am very glad to share with everyone :) My work area and yard dont need anymore HAHAHA

Thank you so much! Also, thank you for the IDs I definitely am not very well acquainted with Michigan Stones so there was some guess work involved! Can't wait to start working on them! Thank you so much for watching! 😊

Thanks man! I am very excited about it! I'm still getting stuff together and filming, but I'll be doing a pretty special video in the next couple of days to address it. Also, I would say this would ruin the surprise, but I already slightly told you (😂 ), DON'T THINK I FORGOT ABOUT YOUR'S! It's been crazy busy lately😅

The rock at 12:24 is a Horn Corral and at 13:02 is a Pudding stone I find them in the farm fields around here and Michigan Rocks has several great videos on them.

Theo, my deer... you are simply amazing. Is this just raw, unbridled talent or have you taken classes in carving? Regardless, the work is superfine. Thank you for being such a down home, real guy who loves the gifts our planet gives.

Thank you so much!😄that truly means a lot! And i have never taken any classes for carving, or for any geology or lapidary stuff; just a lot of practice and trial and error😅 i trained my hand on very small and simple rock engravings to get a base skill started and just keep challenging myself to do something a little more complicated every time so i can keep getting better😄 there's no better teacher than stepping outside of our comfort zones

That is awesome! You did a great design and showing your technique too! Only thing I don't like about working with bone or antlers is the STANK. Well the dust too. Yes wearing a mask very important you don't want to clog up your sinuses or lungs and give yourself a disease! Nice unpacking too very cool to send you that.

Oh I agree! The shop definitely gets a bit stinky when I'm working with the skulls, not quite as bad as antler but still anything but pleasant 😂 thank you so much for watching, and I am very glad to hear that you enjoyed! 😊

Skulls aren't my cuppa char but this is very cool, you have a great talent. This looks like something out of vikings which gives it bonus cool points.

Thank you so much! I take that as a massive compliment! I was definitely inspired by Celtic vines with my own spin on it, and anything Vikings related is definitely a win in my book 😂 thank you so much for watching!

Beautiful skull. :) I'll have to round up some of my son's bones and bring them to you at some point - I'm pretty sure we have some to spare. Also, I loved that you showed your beautiful face in the mail call. :D

Man, you are seriously the best! They would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much! And of course it's in upcoming videos, but I totally credit you and Alex for pushing me to do that! I'm getting a bit more comfortable with it but it's definitely a learning experience 😂 seriously though, you rock Kate! Can't wait to get back out in the field again with you!
