I’m an ER surgical RN. Needless to say; my stress level is up there. One of your older videos was in my feed, so I decided to watch while I was on a work break. You’re a godsend! I cannot tell you how much you’ve helped me with my stress! In one way or another; we’re all here to help each other and our animals. Whether it’s a patient with two legs or four; it’s up to us to make their lives better.

It is so, I don't have the right words, interesting, amazing, powerful, inspirational and moving are the ones that come to mind first when I watch your videos. You can tell you really do care and feel for these cows when they come in hurting and painful. I am not sure you even notice but your voice changes ever so slightly when you work on a heifer or bull that is truly in need of your care. Your lilt becomes slightly more thick and your voice softens, almost as if you want the animal to understand you are there to help. I have learned so much from the years of watching you all the way back to cow 812 (I believe it was she has a book about her written). Thank you so truly much for your love, care and compassion to those who need your healing touch Greame, you and the boys have helped so many and taught so many of us it really is inspirational and moving.

@marthamitchell9452

Dairy cows are different than beef cows. They are much tamer and more friendly, especially if it’s a smaller herd. When cows are raised by people from birth they act very different. I had a dairy cross steer who thought he was a dog. His best friend was our big farm dog and he always came running when he saw us.
@whimsygrove9971
@whimsygrove9971 17 дней назад
How can you not like cows? All they do is stand in a pasture and eat grass all day. They're not aggressive or mean. They aren't confrontational. Actually they can be very interesting. They like to listen to music and will supposedly give "better" milk if you play music for them. They like to be petted and scratched behind the ears like puppies. They're just the best, I love cows! Would totally own a couple if I lived on a farm. 🐮
@marthamitchell9452
@marthamitchell9452 16 дней назад
@@whimsygrove9971 not all cows are the same. Ones that are handled frequently are very tame. Those who have not been need to be watched when you are around them. Even the tame ones can hurt you even when they don’t mean to. We had a pet steer that was very gentle and loving. He would come running to greet you like a dog. The problem was he weighed about 900 lbs and had horns. He didn’t realize that when he turned his head back and forth to be scratched he was knocking into our legs pretty hard. I had constant bruises. Size does matter. He wasn’t even full grown yet.

Graham I ❤ to watch your videos. I admire how you help these animals out. It amazes me they go in the crush barely Able to walk but when they come out they might look stiff but I can tell the difference in their walking now that’s cool because I only know what I see you do or hear you say what is wrong. (This might not be important to you but it is to me because I live it everyday) I watch these animals & you can see them in pain & I also see them in pain in their faces & eyes. I’ve had chronic pain for over 40 years. Been everywhere to see if who if any can help me to ease the pain. I live on the east coast of the United States. I’ve been North, south, west to get help. I know the Drs really try to help but not yet so far. But I don’t give up hope. (LOL) I wish they had a crush I could walk In but walk out feeling better. I know it sounds crazy but I’m telling you I wish it were that easy for humans. Anyway Graham (hope that’s how you spell your name if not I’m sorry). Please don’t stop helping these animals because they have no voice. I sometimes think you do know what they are saying. I can’t say thank you enough for doing everything you know how to make them heal & help with their pain. Trust me I can see their pain in their eyes & faces. & when your putting them in the crush before & after. Again THANK YOU. I think you have a beautiful family. You have 2 cutie pies. I have 2 boys also but mine are a hair older. You & your wife look like good parents & that’s hard too do sometimes but like the animals you help Never Quit on your family. That’s one of the most important precious❤ things you have in life. If I ever get to Scotland maybe we all could have lunch/dinner together as friends. I might be wrong but I’ve heard you talk about traveling all over. Is this entirely for you to learn more or teach others more about your profession. I hope your family gets to travel with you. Traveling in itself is educational for us all. That’s one thing that doesn’t matter about age. We all can learn something new everyday & still not know it all. As they say thanks for the memories. I would have never thought I’d be interested in watching & learning about animals in this way. Well wishes & good luck in all your lives. 🇺🇸❤️🌎👏❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿Take care & thanks for listening if you’re able to. 👏👏👏

Question... I watch the majority of YT videos without sound so you may have answered my question a hundred times. If so, my apologies. I just wanted to know, of all the cases you handle, what percentage of animals suffering from hoof issues is a result of owner negligence? And thank you for all you do to relieve the suffering of these marvelous creatures.
@iPyromantic
@iPyromantic 15 дней назад
It seems like the majority of the farmers he works with are pretty careful with their cattle, but a lot of then also have herds with upwards of 500 cows. Some of them also buy cows that have been mistreated by their previous owners. Graeme frequently makes a point to explain why and how an injury could have progressed as far as it did. I have no experience with cattle myself, so I just have to take his word for it, but Graeme definitely comes across as someone who really cares about the animals he works on. If you have the opportunity, you might try a few videos with sound some time -- Graeme is a delight to listen to.

Although it would also be really nice if he or someone else put proper closed captioning on his videos... having done some captioning myself, I know that's not necessarily a quick job, but not everyone can hear his dulcet tones. I do sometimes wish I could make a quick buck or two captioning stuff like this, haha.

I'm always amazed what paper thin slices you're able to take away with that knife. It's incredible! All of your movements are so smooth and efficient. I recently watched a video of someone else trimming a cow's problem hoof and their movements were so awkward, jerky and the pieces so chunky that it took them forever. I couldn't help but think the whole time that they were just butchering the poor cow's foot as they even cut through the live tissue of the heel bulb despite the problem not even extending that far up (not to mention the lack of local anesthesia!). I kept thinking "they need to take the Hoof GP's online hoof trimming course!"

I find myself cringing. I feel so sorry for the poor beast. Have to admire your being careful and doing your absolute best. God bless.

I love your videos and what you do. The cows must feel pure relief after they've seen THE HGP ❤

Your vids of bovine hooves always remind me of a fresh coconut with the pure white healthy young hoof horn surrounded by an edge of rock-hard material like the coconut shell! The problem stuff dark then further in, many coloured, depending on the damage and any pathogens!

The care and relief you give these girls are amazing. Do the cows eventually associate pain relief with you and your activities with them?

I was wearing my One Herd One Family tee in my garden this week when a Ruby Throated hummingbird flew up and inspected my colorful tee from about 3 inches away to see if it was real flowers for it to sip from.
