Don't be alarmed if you both are enjoying in the tub and a random third person pops up from the center of the bath - I'm just a harmless magician trying to enjoy this magical tub with you guys
Huh what ?……for whom….tell that to my people then(past) and now, it’s not the past get over it(some karma nerve),if the truth makes you uncomfortable..don’t blame the lie that made you comfortable….the eyes are useless, when the mind is blind..the truth is stranger than fiction it’s obvious and just plain common sense and real street smart and energy and vibration and universe and true spirit with discernment…
To those tree lovers, I believe the tree was already dead, so instead of cutting it down completely, this guy still made use of it. Perfect way to use what earth has given us ❤
Doesn't look dead 🧐.. looks pretentious and unnecessary... Whatever, human time is almost over anyway, k.ll whatever you like .. I'm sure there will be zero cause from that effect ...good luck🤨
@@raypeloquin77one guy using a tree is that bad? It’s a single tree. The real problem is lumber industry and cutting in places like the Amazon. But I doubt you care about that. Just trying to be haughty because you can. Shut up
@user-zf2fo3cq8j You clearly don't know much about trees. 😂 Fungal and other infections aren't the only things that kill plants. They can die from all matter of things, just like animals.
People automatically assume this tree was in perfect health and cut down for the sole purpose of making a tub , it could've been dead , storm damaged or lightning stuck making it too hazardous to leave stand
You need not assume all the possibilities to make you happy. People pitying this one tree because it has video doesn't make sense. We use a lot of wood from flooring to bath tissue and we don't have problem with that.
Saw another cool video with this stump tub finished and in use. Agreed then with another commenter that the interior surface should have some sort of sealer coating, and that the outer portion of the stump trunk should have some sort of metal banding, so that the entire stump tub will last longer, and not split from drying out over time.
NOT TO MAKE A STUPID BATHTUB THAT WILL ROT AND TURN TO CRAP. SO JUST TO MAKE A RU-vid VIDEO FOR PINHEADS NO ONE HAS OFFERED A VIDEO SHOWING THEM COUNTING 73 GROWTH RINGS ONLY..SHE SAID IT WAS 73 BUT I DON'T BELIEVE IT!!@@yesatitsfinest
I was thinking about that too. I wonder if making something out of pine resin, or maybe just some kind of seed oil. It seems like a shame to use some kind of petrochemical or plastic. And surely it wouldn't stand up to cycles of being saturated with moisture, drying, freezing, thawing, and baking in the sun without some kind of sealing or treatment. You also don't want something nasty that is going to make a poisonous soup every time you use it.
OK I can’t be the only one but their little compound they have built for them to live in is just absolutely amazing. I wish my wife was into stuff like that.
@@zacharyjohnson7944He has her support. And that is not an insignificant thing. Why would that be the only thing about Slick Nicky's comment you'd address?
I hope I can find a man into this kind of stuff. I just want a weirdo to run around naked in the forest with. Unfortunately, everyone takes life so seriously nowadays.
I was in tears when, a 400 yr old Oak tree fell over at the base 😢 On this property there were 25 Oaks of the 1k Oak trees. The trees were numbered this was #6, they were protected, landscapers given landscaping rules. In this city the property owners have to pay to replace every Oak tree, one for one. With the amount of trees that have been destroyed by diseases, fire and other natural desasters, nice that you were able to make something beautiful.
To those complaining about a dead tree that now has a permanent home as a beautiful tub, please use your energy to change things for the living, wasted trees being cut by the mile every day for your palm oil and avocados. There are politicians that you can call, petitions you can sign but most importantly habits that you can change. Don't buy paper products made from unrecycled wood, urge people to plant trees on their own properties, use products made from bamboo and hemp, urge others to do the same. Also part of keeping forests healthy is by cutting damaged, dead or sick trees that pose danger to the surrounding trees. Trees can look perfectly healthy to the untrained eye but look closer and you will see tops of them getting brittle and brown, roots rotting or disease from pests and fungi that is hidden within. Also plenty of healthy trees get knocked over by weather systems or natural disasters. Yes it's sad when they have to be cut down but often it's necessary to do it before it falls and damages other trees or homes and buildings. Besides many people that work with trees do it because they love them and so they practice healthy forestry, planting 2 to 5x the trees they cut down and choosing those they do cut by health, age and risks they pose. They aren't the same as those clear cutting entire ecosystems for your toilet paper and to make room for more kale, soybeans and quinoa.
This is freaking awesome! If you weren't surrounded by trees i would have maybe questioned this, but i am honestly loving it, seems like you living your best life👌🙌
@@timmynormand8082why he would cut down a 100year old tree just for a hot tub he could have built, but he is surrounded by trees, doesn't seem like he need more, if he only had that tree it would have been questionable.
Love this place and what you guys are doing. Humanity needs to learn to live with nature. It's in our nature to be in nature. It keeps the spirit high...
Living with nature? When you cut down a tree likely more than 100 years old for a tub? When they have multiple bathrooms inside of their house. This is killing nature, not living with it
There's more videos of the stump being used and a hollowed out log turned into a long tub for ice... Keep spinning the shorts. I seen the finished ones first
Very creative. It reminds me of something that took place in the mountains in Boone N.C. around 1994. We cut down a tree that Daniel Boone had carved a note to his wife and kids. It was very bad. The university did not tell us that Daniel Boone had carved into the tree.
I do love those massive trees there are few around anymore. But this tub is awesome. If it needed to be cut down then heck yeah use it ! The wood will be the best since it’s so old. Much stronger then most wood or lumber today
Honestly they probably didnt bother a lot of content is for the video nowadays Even if they did say, epoxy coat it i dont really know how long the tub would last being you can never guarantee the roots wont just rot their way to the surface We need answers!!
Thank you! I have wanted to see the process of making the tub. One of the coolest things I've ever seen. How did you put in a drain? I have lots of questions.
when something happens with the tree you make something with it! I seen a staircase carved out of a tree by our house. someone managed to lean it up against a giant stump like some sort of fairy tail gazebo!
I live in a small college town in NW OREGON and we have old trees in this town. Some homeowner had to cut down a tree that was like 400+ years old . So they had them leave the bottom part and carve wolves and mountains into it. Its pretty awsome.
A tree that has fallen and the things keft behind to rot jave been used in a positive way. What a nice tub! Still inoressive that tree survived 121 years without falling.
Interesting idea presented here. The implication is that each of us alone controls the inputs and outputs of reality in our lives. My lived experience persuades me that there are additional forces at play in every second of every minute than can be accounted for based on what I think, or do, or believe. Yes, one has the capacity and therefore the opportunity to shape oneself as we go forward. But our capacity to manage ALL the influences is beyond the reach of any attitude one adopts. It’s beyond us as well as in our hands. Both are true simultaneously.
@@deauxj 🤣🤣🤣 But seriously, look at the trees in the background. Fir, most likely ; maybe some larch and spruce in there. All pretty big, but looks like second-growth forest. That land had been timbered once before and I'd guess that stump was among the last of the old growth.
Its not really about being positive or negative, its thinking ahead and considering your options. Most things in life have both positives and negatives.
Drill a hole in the middle, buy a thing to prevent hair going into the drain, put a disk like plug on top, and dont forget to drill the drainage thing to the floor
Anyone know what species that is? Just curious. Saw the video where he counts the rings and I thought it was interesting that the tree how grown that large in under 80 years.
@i66yi66zy Did you see the short where he counts up the tree rings? I actually work with sitka spruce quite a bit because I’m a luthier, and sitka spruce is the most common material used for acoustic guitar tops. I can definitely see the resemblance to sitka but in my admittedly limited experience, the size of the rings in this tree are way larger than what I’ve come to expect from sitka. Maybe it’s just because it’s a young tree or something because there’s definitely a strong resemblance in a lot of other ways. But those rings do seem way larger than typical sitka rings.
Maybe this is weird but I have been looking for the perfect place to live remotely and have all the preparations for it I just am not sure if to do it in the north or south. I don’t know much about the states and stuff like that so If you could give me some advice or tell me the perfect like north west or whatever people have said in the comments. The forest you guys live in looks perfect, I don’t want to know exactly where you are obviously but if you could give me a broad statement like “north west” etc
Northern Michigan. Barely any 0 large cities, Ruralish towns. A LOT of things to see too. You will be close to Canada if you ever wanted to go. Hopefully 10 years from now I am living in Northern Michigan 😂 The snow can get bad. But 40 years ago snow was bad everywhere. My state use to get 15 foot snow drifts. Now we are lucky to get 1.5 inches of snow. But it mainly depends where you currently are. I’d never wanna travel more than 3 states away from my original state.
So if I use a tool that in our society is almost neccessary and I have no ethical alternative then I just gave up my right to say my opinion? Look, I'm not one of the people that have a problem with this(for starters idk if they cut that tree themselves or if it had to be cut) but this argument is so bad it's basically self defeating. Guilt tripping random people you don't like for societal problems is kinda shitty.
@@Aura-bu9jb No, it's a pretty good argument. They bitch and raise hell about what this guy does with his own property, but the don't give a shit how the planet is destroyed to cater to their desires. Having an opinion has nothing to do with whether or not you participate in the destruction of the planet, you absolutely have an ethical alternative, which is to abstain. But it's so much easier to say you had no choice, isn't it?
@@casualm0th Because not having a phone could isolate someone, you know someone at work asks for a phone number, even to get work you need to have a number on your resume and it can be really fucking dangerous if you don't have a way to you know... call a fire department or something
Imagine being a tree cut down so you could be used to wipe someone's ass while they make an angry comment about another tree being turned into a hot tub.
I’m that way, and I feel that’s true with a lot of people. That’s probably where the cartoon version of it came from where it shows an angel on one shoulder, and the devil on the other shoulder.
The actual number of idiots in these comments... "Just imagine the tree that grew for centuries just to end up ad a board in your house😨😥😭" Edit: my point is not in those quotes. Idiots here are just saying stuff like that.
