Cary Grant leaves me breathless! If a man can be beautiful, he fits it. His home that he lived in in Palm Springs is not far from where I live. My brother knows his daughter Jennifer. NO ONE WILL MATCH THE CHARM AND CHARISMA CARY HAD. A ONE OF A KIND!! LOVE YOU CARY!!
I went into the video store a week ago and said to the owner "Do you have Notorious on DVD? I've fallen in love with Cary Grant and I can't help myself." He said "Yeah. It happens all the time."
Beautiful, absolutely wonderful. I love it. There was and is no one like Cary Grant. And this tribute proved it. I loved how you ended it. Happy Thoughts, ~ R.C.
Hard to beat this one. Here you have two people who were just gorgeous, but beyond that they both exude intelligence, breeding, and charm. It seems all lost these days.
@geekery15 ... now, now.... we have to be sophisticated about our expressions.... this is class personified. The greatest love scenes ever put on on film, in my not so humble opinion, especially at the end when he rescues her and those closeups and the whisperings of love, and it was all fm the neck up and and noone took their clothes off !
Oh my god - you used Peggy Lee - perfect perfect choice and perfect to set against the love of Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman. I wish they did many more films together
One of my favorite movie hearthrobs... since I was 13!! Nice montage, and both Peggy Lee's voice and Gershwin's song make a great background music! Thanks for posting.
@aussie1689 HELL there was never an actor who ever entertained so well slapstick to drama and who wore a suit so well as Cary Grant...making this is slow motion amplifies that effect exponentially to the nth degree LOL
I LOVE CARY GRANT ... he's just so fluid if you guys know what I mean. I've always said I would have loved to have a little foray to the other side with Flynn but ... Grant would be my permanent guy or Stewart.
I was JUST thinking the same thing and was about post thought when I saw yours. This post is so wonderful and perfection with Peggy singing this Gershwin jewel.
I just finished reading one of Cary's bios, and the author stated that he had "feverish crushes" on the following (4) leading ladies: Irene Dunne, Ingrid Bergman, Grace Kelly & Sophia Loren. Now, when I watch NOTORIOUS, a happy voice is singing in my head "Cary's got a feverish crush on Ingrid, fa-la-la-la-la...la-la-la-laaaaa!
I was in love with Cary Grant from his first frame in FATHER GOOSE, then went backwards and TRULY fell love in with him in the PHILADEPHIA STORY then was addicted and still am. Your video was good but would have been grand had you thank the brothers responsible for this tremendous song from PORGY AND BESS, please change your end credits to lyrics by Ira Gershwin and score by George Gershwin. ~ Janet Thompson Deaver
@IngridBergmanRocked your comment is 3 yrs old, but is the re-release DVD of Notorious a new DVD or do you mean as alternative to VHS video? I bought a 4 set Anchor Bay high quality VHS with Notorious, Rebecca, Spellbound and The Paradine Case. about 5 yrs ago. Amazon review of DVD of Notorious at that time said film showed flaws, specs due to original studio film and he suggested the velvety creamy black/white of a high quality video. But if better DVD I want it.
ertreri Perhpas Devlin got Alicia to the hospital in time. After a few days of stomach pumping, state of delirium and endless amounts of fluids placed into her system: Alicia wakes up finding Devlin waiting for her (refencing to early in the film) and this time they are now free to be together.
It should be mentioned that this song is from the Gershwin borthers. It is considered a standard. Peggy Lee did a great job singing it but it is as much a Peggy Lee song as it is one of Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Barbara Streisand, etc...
