Used to listen to this everyday 4 years ago when I was wrestling in my senior year and looking back at it now I forgot that bigger than everything else the thing that defines our success in all aspects of life is our DRIVE! Our will to succeed supersedes all skill and God given talent. Being in sales now and applying the same principles I can say the results are astonishing. To all the young wrestlers keep pushing and it’s not the end. The character you build from this sport will be with you all the days of your life. Good luck gentlemen.

Cary Kolat really said he's got more losses than wins....... that's not statistical truth, that's just truth about his high moral standards he set for himself. To say he even came close to his expectations is astonishing in itself. He is the man!

Excellent vid with the audio. If I was to nitpick with one thing he said about being short and having no leverage..... yea.... but he had a low centre of gravity.

Best U.S. wrestler never to win an Olympic Gold medal. Cary had great competition and the Russian bribes hindered his success.

Brendan Connolly 3 separate matches he won where the match was re scored after it was over that he lost. Most family his first Olympic trial where he beat the guy and lost afterwards. Most sad wrestler story ever

So "GOD given talent" is a weak mans excuse? So where else did you get the talent and drive to be the best wrestler on the planet?
@viperboyjam1971
@viperboyjam1971 7 лет назад
Jeff Martinez i agree with him, for some people its natural talent. and for some they have to work harder for it to seem as if it was natural talent. i would say the personality and mindset of always pushing yourself and the drive is God given, but not the talent.
@willarthur3888
@willarthur3888 7 лет назад
Jeff Martinez sure natural talent will win in high school, but the high level he competed at (olympics) everyone is talented and the winners are the ones who never gave up and always worked hard.

It's not God given talent, it's the dedication, and time that he put in to pounding on his craft the allowed him do become one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. You don't come out of the womb with work ethic you have to mentally and physically train your body and brain to operate day in and day out like a machine.

To some extent it’s true. There are so many talented people that don’t become successful. Talent is part of success but so is virtue. Virtue comes BOTH from God and the individual who acts in accord with His grace.
