Survivor here! Spent 13 months in CBS then transferred to SCL for 9 months. I still clean my hairbrush every day but I’m happy I don’t have to wash my chonies in the sink 😂
I was at Casa throughout the entire raid in 2004 after a year in the "program". Eventually I transferred to Iowa for an additional 6 months. I cried the first time my mom sent me to a public restroom by myself, had a panic attack my first day back at school, and was unsuccessful at taking my own life on three separate occasions the first year home. I definitely think experiences varied depending on year and facility, possibly even gender... but even if the raids were more traumatizing than the everyday living conditions, I'm in my thirties : I still have night terrors, still wet the bed, still have panic attacks from time to time and I still have to sleep facing the wall with my own blanket apart from my husband's. These schools need to be shut down. This is not the way to "fix" troubled teens. I agree that sharing experiences might prevent a child from the trauma that is burdened on them by attending these schools and that parents aren't truly aware of what's happening behind the gate. I have heard "successful" stories but I relate to those that couldn't find it and had to find healing later, instead.
I was in casa in 1999. No words can explain the torture of children that occured there. Nobody can really understand it if they havent been there. The terror and silence in the children was deafening. The white tile floors will always haunt my dreams. This woman is amazingly tough and has seen more than you can imagine. I applaud her for attempting to explain it. As someone that was there i can see in her eyes the things she doesnt want to say.
The parents are just as guilty. They should have known from the fact that they couldn't just visit anytime that something very bad was happening there.
A teen called Michael Perry went to Casa by the Sea around 99-00. He ended up killing three people just one year after he left. He was executed by the State of Texas in 2010. That says it all.
It's so fucking weird to me how consistent the kidnap tactic is across these different places. As though "yeah, no, that works.. don't change that part, it's perfect as is". WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?
So weird. Randomly remembered being in this dump, casa by the sea. did some searching finally after 23 years. Not surprised. Remember initially spending many hours on my knees on white tile floor listening to zig zigler tapes. Other than that, played lots of basketball, ate their shitt food, took lots of ice cold showers until finally deciding to work the program so I could leave ha Fun times. almost 18mo there to graduate. Turned out to be successful anyways, no credit to the program.
Courage 99-00. Never made it to level 3. After bein in R&R and worksheets all the time.. hog tied.. standing against the wall for 13 plus hours.. watching girls pee and 💩 themselves all cuz a girl in our fam ran away. The scabies scare.. so many things, i cant just lay all out. After all the bs.. i said fk it.. i kept my head down.. made amazin friends and focused on my school work. I went in with ZERO credits and came out and i only had a few classes left to finish to graduate at home. I got pulled in april 00 on my 17th birthday. Paris did an amazing job with her documentary about it all.
Wow, i was checking your videos to see if they were related to your sons assault by neighbourhood karen, and discovered this about the school. Sounds like the specialty program and teen help programs were something like a money making cult. Best regards for the future🥝🇳🇿😎

Casa wasn’t that bad. I enjoyed my 16 months there. The program was like anything. What you put into it, you got out of it. I guess I just invested more into it than others
