Fly-Fishing in the Amazon Basin is a really special experience. Not only is it some of the most high pace fishing on the planet but you get to see and experience all the rich culture and pristine ecology of the jungle. Follow a groups of anglers, led by Rob Anderson of Bucket-list Fly-Fishing, as they expedition to a remote hidden lagoon within the Xeriuini River preserve in search of Grande Peacock Bass.
The Amazon Basin contains the largest swath of undeveloped rain forest in the world. The natural properties of the Amazon River and forest provide some of the most valuable ecosystem services on Earth. A healthy and intact Amazon could be one of the Planets greatest defense against Climate Change. Yet, an estimated thirty-five to fifty acres of rain forest are chopped every minute. When you go fishing in the jungle a good portion of the money goes directly to local villages for the fishing leases. Sustainable eco tourism is quickly becoming a better economic generator then resource extraction for some area's. If people keep coming here to go fishing it gives the villages an incentive to protect their rivers and surrounding forest from Commercial Fishing, Logging, Mining, Grazing and other ultra damaging industries. By choosing to spend your money on a fishing trip to the Amazon, you are literally helping protect one of the most valuable ecosystems on planet Earth.
