The funny thing is asp.net webforms would have handled this perfectly with update updanel control. but the wrold wants to move from automatic to manual.

excelente video, una pregunta cuando selecciono el primer dropdown se llena el segundo con los datos correspondientes al primero pero si vuelvo a seleccionar el primer dropdown al segundo se le agregan los de la segunda seleccion y aparecen los de la primera seleccion y los de la segunda como se podria actualizar o limpiar el segundo dropdown ?

after selecting dropdown then do it like normal save.Just get the parameter value and set it to model and save it.

Buenas de antemano te doy las gracias por tomarte el tiempo de explicar este tema. He hecho todo igualito, paso por paso, al seleccionar un ítem del primero droplist , va al controlador, hago la pausa y veo que me busca la información, pero solo llega hasta allí, no entra al "each" para el llenado de datos, que puede estar pasando??, saludos y gracias.

First of all thanks for your response. i have manged to code all what you have managed to demo on video. i can retrieve the both the dropdownlist values but unable to transfer to it to controller. Also after pressing the submit button page get resetted. how to resolve this concerns.

Could you please tell how would you modify the javascript if the drop down for the 'Country' was in the Main view and the dropdown for 'State' was in a partial view (rendered by the Main view)? Thank you! I appreciate your time

Thanks for your comment.........This is not matter that where your child drop down is locate.But you should render the partial view from Main view(where country is locate).If you wants to use JavaScript into partial view then it will work also on Main view........... Thanks! What I have is 2 dropdowns in the main view and 1 drop-down in the partial view. the 1st drop down decides the values in the 2nd one (both in Main View) and the 2nd one decides the values in the 3rd dropdown (in Partial View). So when the values in 1st are changed, it should populate both the 2nd and the 3rd drop-dow lists, but only the 2nd is populated. the one in partial view is not populated.

No... 3rd drop down will load onchange of 2nd dropdown. But when you change 1st drop down then 3rd dropdown don't get any id from 2nd dropdown because you selected 1st dropdown.

I get your point. the 2nd dropdown is changed when 1st one is changed, shouldn't this change in 2nd trigger a change in 3rd? Is there a way to make it behave this way?

maybe you pass a parameter to get 3rd dropdown list.So without this specific parameter you are unable to get this specific 3rd list.But if you wants to get all data without filtering then it possible to load.But cascade dropdown impossible without selection ........

If it is from single table then you should have parent-child relationship between them then you can only show parents in first dropdown box then after selection of first then child of this selected item will load

it not Optimal when i use 3 selected. Because select number 2 auto create, it not .change(function) united states->California. i can't choose Amador City But i change California-> texas, then back to California, i can choose Amador City
