While you are watching the clips:
* note how the assessor asks questions to stimulate the student to aggregate and synthesise data gained from the history;
* notice how learning objectives for the students are generated during the discussion;
* think about what the student has gained;
* note how the assessor involves the student in assessing herself when filling in the form.
For a case based discussion:
* the discussion may be in public, but feedback should be confidential and given individually to students.
* the discussion should last around 15 minutes with five minutes for feedback.
* not all aspects of the case need be discussed -- assessors could focus on particularly interesting aspects of the case, or areas which the student suggests that they need to develop.
