Finally someone had the brains to design it with REAL tracks, not rubber ones. Being a bit heavier, it will have a better cohesion and stability, which will increase performance both of the machine and the operator because it will reduce the shaking of the whole machine and he operator will feel more relaxed doing his job. Great job, CASE!
No steel tracks for all major brand CTL’s have been around from almost day 1 at least the last 10-12 years You would only use steel tracks for these machine if ALL you did 365 days a year was small forestry work or mine/quarry work staying on soil all the time
Also, the rig to deliver this to the site could be much more compact. As simple as a one ton dually regular cab with gooseneck trailer set up with just enough deck for this unit. Pull into any neighborhood on tight roads and flip a u turn in dead end streets within reason. On and off trailer in minutes. Access through residential side yards. In socal neighborhoods in the hills backed up to forestry land this could be awesome.
I was part of one of the focus groups for this machine in 2017 at Conexpo. Iv'e kept updated thru the years as the build changed. I believe this is the future of the CTL platform. The dozer undercarriage, C-frame dozer blade, and rippers, are home runs. I always advocated for the Enhanced Hi-flo feature to remain as those attachments make sense for this size machine. I myself am a General Contractor with 2 TV380's in my fleet with one doing 100% Forrest mulching. Whats been missing from the TV380 for Land clearing is a more robust undercarriage. Case nailed it. The options for the tracks are perfect both single and triple grousers as well as rubber. I intend to buy 2 of them (IF) it's properly priced. Please CASE do not over price them.
@@EquipmentWorld I kept pressuring my dealer for me to run test trials here on Maui ( oh well) due to our multi /unique environment. You can be at the beach and a hour later up in the mountains with snow. I would have given extremely specific critique. The Case brand CTL has been a full time machine in my company for over 11 years.
Wow! I like it. I was hoping for an equalizer bar to connect front of track frames, too chassis. @6:40 you can see its solid. I'm still impressed though. Hmm LGP version with a wider blade? 🤔. Who would of thought we'd see a high drive case dozer?? I love it.
@@matthewkurzhals1812 it was pretty badass. The people that had it and ran it for a while said the only baf thing was it was 20 or 30 more hp in dozer mode than loader mode. All the power all the time would've been nicer.
This is an interesting and informative video on a particularly versatile and capable new machine in the compact sector. Companies and Owner Operators at every level would find a machine of this size and with this degree of capability an asset to their business. Your coverage was excellent, informing potential Owners and Operators of the potential of this superb little machine. As with Cat's Next Generation Mini Excavators, companies that listen very carefully to what it is that their buyers want to see on a machine to make it better, it improves the entire industry for everyone. Helicopter manufacturers have found that it really pays to learn and better understand how their customers were using their aircraft, whether in the Gas and Oil sector or the ever growing helicopter ambulance role. Whoever would have thought that by simply listening to ones customers and better understanding their needs, better machine and beneficial upgrades would follow...
@@williamuskoski1385 I couldn't agree more! I would really like to buy the CAT 302 CR Next Generation Mini Excavator (Cab version) with an Engcon EC204 Tiltrotator! That would suit me just fine!
I have the 550G and it's been a great for my company and its played for it self 4 times over and think this new one is great to but let just see the cost of it first. Thanks
Dark Knight they invite it, by that I mean they never back their own “warranty” on the construction side. Sadly they have left more than a few customers hanging, lawsuits have been filed against Case for this. Sad but true, I was a brand loyal person towards Case, no longer
The machines are actually pretty good I use them for about eight years Doing anything you can think about from knocking trees 10 times it size to knocking all types of vegetation’ heavy Daily
Don’t like their skid steers as their hydraulic quick connects will not work with other implements, their mount is also not standerrized to industry standards. The attachment have to be special to case.
Dave N it was a 2008 model I do believe they fixed the problem as I’ve since ran a new one and found the new ones are rebadged new holland skidsteers. But still shocking the older case made models have case specific hydraulic convection. Was a giant pain to have to buy attachments or change attachments with that thing.
Not to burst your bubble, but I’ve owned a T300 Bobcat for over ten years that has a 6 way dozer blade and does an awesome job pushing dirt and rocks. No, it doesn’t have ripper, but my land plain does. Nice looking machine.
I've used the T300 and I'm not impressed; it feels more like a toy but it only does the same work as smaller track loaders similar to the Takeuchi TL140 & 10
That thing is freakin awesome lol I bet that machine will take Case to a new level. I can only imagine how many contractor's are going to jump all over that like bee's to a flower patch
After my experience dealing with Cases design flaws and terrible customer support,I wouldn't even consider this machine. It is a shame, love the concept, hate the company.
@@kevinclegg9228 yeah I hear ya lol I never liked the boom design on their backhoe and I really didn't care for their heavy equipment side as much as other names like John Deere and Volvo etc. I do like their farm equipment side though. But I think they have some really serious competition in some other names. I'm definitely not one who is partial to just one brand. I think different machines shine better than others in every brand name.
Seemingly well conceived. Without seeing it in person or sitting in the seat... it looks like it is very blind side to side. I have a boatload of people working in close proximity to the machine. I see this as a problem. Beyond that it looks great and well thought out. I hope it is a good product for Case
you had me at most powerfull, the video was a little long winded with out enough visual representation of the workings, and didnt touch on the actual ctl controls are they "H" pattern, or pilot, or selectable? and you didnt talk about the ripper although I suppose its mostly self explanitory. any how thanks for the vid always cool to the neat new stuff that I'll probably never get to play with.
Thanks for watching and for leaving us some feedback. It always helps us out with future videos. There was a lot to talk about with this machine in terms of the design. As for the CTL controls, they are the same electro-hydraulic controls as those available on the new B Series CTLs. They allow you to switch between H pattern and ISO.
I personally haven’t had any luck with case machines. I got the opportunity to run a brand new case tr340 track loader and it only had a few hours and I was getting a hydraulic warning and it was full of oil. I do like how easily I was able to see out of it when backing up but it’s a dog compared to the power of a cat or even a Deere 333.
Rubber tracks are rough enough to operate.. Can you even imagine what that light, steel footed, short lengthed machine is gonna feel like to operate 14 hr days..
You also need to look at the Mecalac equipment, they have been doing a similar concept for years, but based on an excavator. Far more versatile as well, but maybe not as good at 'heavy' dozing as the Case machine, but everything in a combo machine is a compromise.
I should add that when I pick up the phone and call my Hills Machinery Service Department for service, for any reason, they actually answer the phone and I receive whatever service I need quickly! Sometimes it's the same day but I can't recall one single time when it was more than 2 days. I do own 2 Cats and 3 John Deere's and Cat is always days out and we all know that time is money but equipment down because of time is more money and frustrating and makes me feel unimportant.
I can see value to this design in certain applications but remember the phrase "Jack of all trades...master of none". IMO the biggest issue with using the skid steer platform during dozer applications is the lack of ability to see the corners of the blade. The loader arms block the line of site.
Jason Chapman been a common problem with the vertical lift machines ,I used to do a lot of sub stations where there are lots of obstructions like pedestals and footings ,for electrical apparatus and was a serious pain when final trimming .😤😤
Can’t wait to see some videos of these things working in real world applications and hopefully live in the dirt. Also, I’m wondering if the Cats, Deere’s, and Bobcats of the world will try to come out a comparable machine to this?
Mason Acheson you are correct, but it is missing a ton of the features that makes thing a true beast. No chassis blade integration, no solid steel crossbar, and I don’t think it has dozer style controls or the weight, HP
Been running case equipment since 1970 have had their dozers , backhoes , and skidsteers they make good quality reliable machines glad to see they put single grouser tracks on it👍👍 she looks like she’s cute like a boss!! Now let’s see what P.O.S. Cat comes up with they don’t like it when other companies come out with a cool product before they do🤣🤣
What's with the big round main loader arm ,just makes it that much harder to behind you.i thought CAT was bad .needs to have three cameras so you can see properly.
Interesting idea, I'll bet it is more tailored towards municipal users! The steel tracks and rear rippers would be great during the dozer/ripping operations, compact loader operations, not so much!! I'd like to try one, just curios if the dozer connection geometry would really work!!!
Bold Guy I would love to try one of these units. There are a lot of jobs that will damage rubber tracks in a heartbeat. This machine would be impressive in the forest with a buncher head and a grapple and even a mulching head and still be able to do your normal ctl tasks love this idea and honestly asked ASV sales rep why they couldn’t come up with a similar option. Cat has the steel tracks but I can’t fit in there cab well
Looks like a pretty nice machine and well built too. Over built I'd say, but that is what I think everyone would want, esp. for dozing applications... I think it's not going to be a cheap machine, if I were to guess, I wouldn't be surprised if this thing was $80 large..... I think it'll sell well however.
The loader/dozer is cool but the sales will probably be extremely low. One of the biggest problems I see is that a CTL shouldn’t be running on steel tracks and a dozer shouldn’t be on rubber. I think it would be cool for use on a pipeline or something where you spend the majority of your time off-road but the steel tracks would kill it for most construction work. It’s also most likely lacking a lot of power as a dozer.
, I totally disagree, the thing that takes alot of earthmoving capability away from a ctl is the rubber tracks. The steel tracks anywhere off pavement will really shine off of improved surfaces. All they did is recreate a track loader. A machine that already exists. But gave it much worse visibility. This thing with a yard and a quarter bucket would dig basements in tight areas very well..
Scott McQuarrie it would be great as long as it never saw pavement but that’s a huge problem for them. They most likely won’t be manufacturing them for very long because there will be such a small market for them. It’s a cool machine for a select few people but it’s a huge mistake for a manufacturer to invest in making them.
@@strangefruit8776 I think they would have a huge market share if they educate contractors of the versatility and capabilities of it. I can name 10 jobs it is perfect for right off the top of my head. Demolition and all sorts of work around residential, commercial and industrial jobs. Anywhere a comparable sized wheel loader would work, this thing can run circles around it. Plus if they would be smart enough to put quick change type rubber to steel tracks system on it, that would be a real game changer.
Everyone who is Hating on this remember what they said. This is for a guy that drives himself with one truck to job. Can do two things. Not everyone wants to have more than one truck and trailer. Or more employees bitching about how worthless the multipurpose small machines are. It for a one operator set up owner.
Listen when your building that big trying to be more Dozer like I feel like you should just buy a dozer. I dont see it lasting long with steel tracks and it probably doesn't really do anything well especially dozing. You know how hard it is to grade with one of these? My boss bought a blade for our 299 cat. Yeah after 2 days I sent back to the shop and put the bucket back on.. and does anybody remember a Cat 943? Bring it back Cat!
I understand exactly what you mean. A skid steer wasn't designed to handle the day to day aspect of heavy dozing. On the other hand, it does appear Case has designed this machine to handle the force of light dozing. Interesting machine.......would like to see how well they hold up 5 years down the road.
CTLs are great because they are what they say COMPACT, and FAST, and RUBBER track so I can drive it anywhere on any job. Author should have told you that John Deere main spot light was on there 333G with a new big dosser blade with all the same goodies. This is a big unit. Steel tracks makes it limited in the CTL world. The main point I see is not hauling different machines back and forth. One machine many tasks. The John Deere is rubber track. The Case has a different sub-frame and lift which is new.
Hopefully they’ve workout the ratshit electric over hydraulic controls my TR270 was a pig and ate 3 joysticks in 1800hrs never had any sort of real world feel!! My old NH CTL was underpowered but drove beautifully, my new kubota SVL75 shits all over the TR270 in power comfort visibility control/feeling and most importantly reliability
I have 2000 hrs on my SVL75, ive had to replace the tracks once and the fan belt, thats it. I do wish Kubota would work on the cab a little more though, it leaks, noisy, and rattles like no other but its been dead reliable.
I like the machine alot, but, to me you just really invented a machine that already exists, just everybody forgot about. I just don't see the advantage over say a 455 or 855 track loader with a quick coupler mounted 6 way blade. I think the crawler loaders have much, much better visibility. But it is a nice machine. I bet case engineers read my comment and say to them selves wow we never thought of that. But they will never admit it.
Absolutely. I agree. These multi use machines are neat to play with but a TV yhe end of the day they are way to expensive and clumsy to run everyday. I would rather have a older dozer and skid on the job verses one of these. Just my 2 cents.
@@dirtdiggur , with all due respect, I disagree. I like the idea of a multi purpose machine but they picked the wrong platform for it. An older case 855, or 455 track loader, not a dozer would be better than this machine, just for visibility alone.
Think Case will destroy The Ctl market with this , Wish they would consider a Wide Track Option though, See this tractor Getting Stuck Quickly in soft Soil conditions , Other then that for Finish grade around buildings task like that I’d love to Try it .
The heavy steel undercarriage is no new concept Caterpillar has been doing it for years. As for the heavy 6 way dozer cool concept and all but when it comes down to doing serious work I've found that multipurpose machines aren't that great and generally broken down a lot. If you're doing dozer work use a dozer if you're needing a loader use a loader. Kinda like a backhoe yes they'll do the job but they won't do it as fast or as easy as an excavator or front-end loader. Basically for the price of a new backhoe I can buy both a skid steer and a 55 class mini excavator.
hydraulic lines rub against everything resulting fluid leaking all over the place. support (forgetaboutit) try using this to get on job without damaging street or driveway....
Well duh.. you put any kinda real grouser on a tracked machine it’s gonna push way better than any rubber tracked machine.. put those tracks on other manufacturers machines then see if it truly is good or not
