Great explanation. I saw many of these designs but most of ours were used with Steam to Hot Water Converters. Also, over the years I found the Pneumatically Actuated Valves to be far more accurate, responsive, and reliable (especially reliable) compared to the every growing trend to go to DDC Valves. Where DDC controls were spec'd for a job, I preferred to specify the use of pneumatic actuators tied to Pulse Width Modulation modules. I really like the Fixed Temp valve shown here. The old adage, Simpler is usually Better, seems to apply.
Ray, would primary secondary configuration be the preferred method when using a 3 way mixing valve? That’s usually what I encounter. The boiler would have a pump to maintain required flow. As always, your video is very informative.
