Repairing latch on Selmer Super Action 80 series II. This is video of the first part of the repair as I learned how to wind a spring for this small application. Another video may follow this to show how I fabricated a new button that matches pretty well with the latch on the other side of the case.

Great vid. I tried to make my own replacement springs using piani wire lenghts, and it sorta worked. Got one latch done. Curious to see how you got the pin out of the latch. My nexr one has closed ends on thin the pin area. Absolutly whant to reuse the latch as the brand logo is printed into it, and that's real cool.

Hi Robert, in Canada I really have not found any torsion springs like this locally. As an instrument repairman I do have access to the appropriate springs, but they all come from the USA. Often my advantage as a repairman is in improvising and fabricating parts on the spot instead of keeping a huge stock of every possible item. I appreciate your comment. Perhaps I’m looking in the wrong places - I’d be happy to hear about it. Take care!

Mike - would you be able/willing to upload a follow up video that is just the fast-forwarded section, starting around the 5:30 minute mark? I’m also curious about that part specifically. Thanks for the video
