In my situation I've replaced every part he mentioned here - save for the fast idle that the ECU was randomly triggering and had to be overridden to fix. My car has what I believe is the same issue - when it's been sitting about 15 minutes, it just idles super rough when I try to start it again and takes along time to get started. I replaced the simple stuff (air regulator - which like in this video mentioned was also stuck shut, O2 sensor, fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, throttle position sensor), to complex things (fuel injectors - all of them, fuel pump, catalytic converter, had fuel lines cleaned, and vacuum test done) - but no real change. So - I believe my fix is going to be the same in that I will need to replace the ECU - JC Whitney sells Cardone refurbs.

Hi Rob, thanks for the great video. Those first generation 300zx are such a pain to tune for non pros like me! I have a few questions: 1. When I read my codes, I get 13, 14, 23, 24, 31, and 41. My year is 1985 and it seems that codes read differently than for the later year in your video. Anyways, problem is, codes 13, 23, 24, and 31 remain after erasing memory... why do you think that is? 2. If I swap ecu with a brand new one, same codes appear after erasing, which suggest first ecu is not faulty. Could chts and other codes be monitored by new ecu as soon as car key is turned to on position? 3. Both ECUs never display code 44, which seems to be a code to confirm that ECU is good... Are both of my ECUs bad (which I strongly doubt since the second one was recently reman'd by Nissan)? I would appreciate if we could continue this conversation offline (please advise).
