I believe that this Casey Junior character could be probably the first animated tank engine in the history of filmmaking. He is invented before Thomas and Percy
I decided to feature Casey Junior as one of the five main characters in a new RU-vid film series called The Enchanted Forest: Modern Overhaul. To be honest - instead of Faline Bambi Tod Jiminy Cricket and Thomas the Tank Engine like in the original TEF series - there’s only Bambi’s Mom The Great Stag Robin Hood the Fox Sarafina the Lioness and Casey Junior in the new TEF series. Besides it - TEF: Modern Overhaul is supposed to be like a remake compared to the original film series. That’s all
One Christmas Eve night, Hero Boy is awoken when his room starts shaking. He finds lights flashing outside his window and goes outside to find a train sitting in front of his house. A Conductor steps outside and invites Hero Boy onto the train. Hero Boy steps away, but just as the train is leaving, he decides to jump on. Onboard, he finds other children, including Know-It-All and Hero Girl. After the train pass Herpolsheimer's, the Conductor punches the children's tickets before the train stops at 11344 Edbrooke Avenue. The Conductor invites Billy onboard, but Billy turns it down. He changes his mind, however, but the train had already gathered too much speed for him to catch up, so Hero Boy stops the train by pulling the emergency brake. The Conductor came back, but he is more forgiving when he learns of Hero Boy's intentions. The train starts moving again as the children are served hot chocolate. Hero Girl goes to give some to Billy, but leaves her unpunched ticket on her seat, so Hero Boy goes to return it to her. The wind blows it out of his hand while he tries crossing cars, though it eventually returns to the train. Later, the Conductor realizes he forgot to punch Hero Girl's ticket, but when she cannot find it, the Conductor takes her onto the roof of the train. Fortunately, Hero Boy finds her ticket, so he too climbs onto the roof to return it. He meets the Hobo, who helps him get to the locomotive before they reach Flat Top Tunnel. In the engine room, Hero Boy finds out Hero Girl was made to drive the train while Smokey and Steamer fix the headlight. Steamer suddenly sees a light ahead and calls out to Hero Girl to stop the train. Hero Boy and Hero Girl briefly argue over which is the brake, but manage to stop the train just before a herd of caribous. They along with the Conductor walk to the front of the train to help with the situation. Once the caribou clears the track, Smokey and Steamer take over driving and the train continues on. However, the throttle jams due to a loose cotter pin, which eventually comes off and falls into an air vent, causing the train to accelerate. Concerned about the situation, the Conductor ties himself and the two children to the safety bar to get ready for Glacier Gulch. While on the gulch, the pin comes back out and Steamer catches it with his mouth, but swallows it by accident. The train speeds onto the Ice Lake as Smokey tries to retrieve the pin by hitting Steamer's back with a shovel, which instead sends it flying out of the cab and into the ice. Smokey finally fixes the throttle using the pin from his hair, allowing Steamer to stop the train. However, the ice starts cracking, so Steamer drives the train away and towards the tracks on the other side of the lake while the Conductor navigates. The train get back on the rails just as the last of the ice cracks. The Conductor also punches Hero Girl's ticket before they and Hero Boy return to the passenger cars as the train climbs Corkscrew Mountain. The train crosses the Arctic Circle where the Conductor shows Hero Boy, Hero Girl and Billy the lights of the North Pole in the distance. They soon arrive and stop at the Square where the children get off. However, the train loses the observation car when Hero Boy accidentally uncouples it while he and Hero Girl go to get Billy to come. The car stops on a turntable where the children get off and go to find a way back to the Square. After doing so, Hero Boy receives the silver bell and Santa flies off in his sleigh. The children line up at the train to get their tickets punched again while some elves use a handcar to retrieve the observation car. When they get back onboard, Hero Boy finds to have lost the bell and cannot go looing for it as the train had already started moving. The train once again stops at 11344 Edbrooke Avenue to drop off Billy, who thanks Hero Boy for stopping the train for him earlier before going home. Later, it is Hero Boy's turn to get dropped off. He says goodbye to Hero Girl and Know-It-All and walks to his house. Just as the train starts leaving, the Conductor wishes him a Merry Christmas, repeating himself after not being heard the first time, while the Hobo on top of the train waves goodbye.
The Brave Engineer is a 1950 Walt Disney-produced animated short film,[2] based on the exploits of legendary railroad engineer John Luther "Casey" Jones.[3] It is narrated by comic Jerry Colonna and is a comedically madcap fanciful re-telling[4] of the story[5] related in the Wallace Saunders ballad, later made famous by Eddie Newton and T. Lawrence Seibert. It was also released fifty years after Jones was killed. Plot The cartoon opens to a railroad yard where "all the trains are fast asleep." The sun rises, and engineer Casey Jones wakes from his slumber in the cab of his engine No. 2, an American Standard 4-4-0 tender engine that is hauling a small, yet valuable train known as the Western Mail. His train begins the journey and Casey is intent on making his schedule at all costs. Casey is confronted by a variety of obstacles along the way. He has to paddle his train through flooded wetlands, stop for a cow crossing the tracks, and save a woman who was tied up on the tracks by a stereotypical villain character. Another villain destroys a span of tracks on a trestle, and as Casey has to get the Western Mail across a gorge without those tracks, his train heads on into a dry desert canyon. He fights off a group of criminals, who climb onto the cab of his engine in an attempt to rob the train. To make up for lost time, Casey runs his engine well past his mechanical limits, plowing through two tunnels (one which exploded & the last one didn't), passing a five mile sign causing it & the tracks to melt. While focusing completely on repairing the engine, he drives the Western Mail at full speed down a hill on a collision course with another train, which is a double-headed slow freight train. The conductor sees the other train, runs up, and attempts to warn Casey about the oncoming train, but Casey is too busy fixing the engine to pay attention, and so the counductor jumps for his life, as do the crew of their other train. As Casey only notices at the last second and just has time to scream, the two trains collide with a large explosion in a cloud of black smoke. The station porter's initial disappointment of thinking the train won't arrive is quickly dispelled as Casey arrives, with the remains of his engine, almost on time.
To be honest I’m originally going to reinvent the TEF series in the spring time. But then I began the TEF: Modern Overhaul series this year instead. So I believe there shall not be a feature film of the new TEF series until the spring time. TEF modern overhaul includes short films in the beginning. That’s all
