This conversation episode is my favorite so far. Casey has always struck me as vastly intelligent and creative and his humour is brilliant. I really respect Casey for sharing his opinion on sharing his kids with social media. I have three amazing bonus kids (step kids) and I have never and will never share them on social media in any way. They should never have to go through life losing the upper hand to strangers.

I don't even like maple syrup that much but I'm from NY and lived in NH and VT for 4 years and know the ins and outs of maple syrup and sugar shacks and everything related. Maple cotton candy is awesome, maple drops are pretty good, and I like sprinkling maple sugar on pancakes.
@helgedell

Casey should have followed up that story, might be the waffle-place that gets screwed by the place the order the syrup from. If that is the case, many other shops are probably beeing cheated by the manufacturer.

That was exactly my thought. Don't end the story there and you may actually discover a real conspiracy. Do some good for the restaurant that you love rather than harm! And a story is always better with a mystery and a villain ;)

This is why there have been so many tests with other hosts stepping in on stories. He wants to eventually be the boss behind the camera, not the host, so he can focus on other things. I sincerely hope he'll never completely disappear from RU-vid (even if we just get A Conversation With every once in a while and that's it), and I really hope that the daily news show remains with the same neutrality and finds a relatable host(s) to take his place. I can find a million other options to fill that 10-20 minutes of my day without Phil, but if he disappears entirely I'll miss him, and if the new shows disappears entirely I'll be much less informed about the world.

I got my first phone at 9, which was young (but I used it because I went to a school far away from home, alone). And the only thing I used it for was snake and texting it. I can’t imagine how it would have been if I could have the internet on it. I didn’t get a phone with internet until 15 years old, and I’m glad I was that age. I deal with kids that are 10/11/12 with phones with Instagram, youtube, tik tok and you can see how toxic it is on their confidence. They care SO MUCH about what people think.

One day I just wasn't able to get out my bed.I tried but It was like being held down by a forcefield... I got better but for years I couldn't even go to a show, I was just thinking about work, though I really couldn't work..... Now I'm almost at the point, that I could work at the same level.But I Will never again... Today I'm a Producer, light-tech and a caretaker of an old prestegious theatherstage... I just want everyone to feel that the future, is in the future. What ever crap you take (don't take crap unnecessarily!) It'll get better!

Yeah, I think you (Casey), did the right thing by NOT publishing the video about the maple syrup. I'm learning that unless it's a corporation, and someone who can afford to lose customers, it's better to keep it to yourself. I have been wronged so many times. Yet, i am careful to call out individuals who might lose their job. Times are tough. I had an ex -boyfriend who ran a popular family owned restaurant in LA. HAD to cut corners at times. Especially if he had an employee quit on him. That meant he'd be out shopping for veggies hours before dinner and he couldn't always get the best of the best. Glad you listened to yourself!! RU-vidrs think way too much of themself. If you don't post a Video, people may notice it. But it is not like people constantly going trough their Subs List and just delete youtuber just because they haven't posted anything. If you post a Video 2 months later, it is like nothing has changed because again, the video will appear in their Playlist. They will treat it like they treated it every time before.
