EV's will have a rough start when they become mandatory new car sales in 2035 in California! There won't be enough charging stations which will create long lines and long waits.
I currently drive a Ram pickup powered by a Cummins diesel. EV battery chemistry is evolving and one of the goals is to eliminate the use of cobalt. California has mandates for electric and it goes beyond just cars. 2023 is the last year to be able to buy gas powered yard maintenance equipment, pressure washers, and many other machines powered by small gas engines. It's going to get interesting to see how it all works out. Already lots of Tesla cars in California. My neighbor has a Model Y and says he's happy with it.
