I'm pretty sure all these people have Ph.D's; like they said it in the beginning of the show. One guy is astrophysics, and i forgot the others. and they were going to a library
The host is hilarious. I always crack up when he pauses for what seems like an eternity, before letting the contestants know they've answered the video bonus question correctly. Too funny, man.
Just watched him on the latest episode of “Blue Bloods” (30 April 2021), so he’s also an actor...he was great! I’ve watched some of his standup, too - definitely hilarious!🤪🤣🤣🤣
The prize winning is just a minor expense for the game show. Hiring the host, a whole other production crew on another car, research crew for the question, the editor, depreciation on at least two cars, a dozen video equipments, insurances, etc, etc, all those already adds up to way more than $3000 per show.
Ben Bailey is an absolute savage as a stand up comedian. Listen to his routine on the roast of Patrice O'Neil.... holy shit he goes IN on the comedians there and was quite possibly the funniest roaster.
Usually the video bonus questions are easy because not everyone would risk it going for the video bonus question. Also it's very hard to get to the video bonus question because the questions asked during the ride are usually very hard.
Unfortunately they are professors at BMCC. You can hear Ben Bailey say it when he awards them with $3,000. I agree, they are very smart people and have the potential to teach at a much better university like Harvard or Yale.
@@pacifist1360 I think it's much more noble to teach at a community college and give a stellar education to the workjng class than simply take a spot at Harvard or Yale because of pay and prestige.
Well... Considering the former record was probably held by a couple of drunks stumbling out of a bar. I'm not that impressed that three college professors only came out with three grand. LOL
I met Bailey last year while he was on comedy tour... pretty cool guy. He was with another comedian I met but I don't remember his name, not as notable I think.
My favorite part about this show is when they get in and the lights and noise go off: *the looks on their faces, LMAO!!! Its very rare that anyone notices it, but some do on occasion. Usually the younger ones.
Ben Bailey's bring your cash cab to Barry everybody would love it it would be my birthday gift I would never ever forget I've always wanted to be in your cab again
As a side note, never use Spanish Moss to enhance your ghillie suit, the stuff itches like crazy. SSG. U.S. Army (Medically Retired) Infantry / Sniper / SOF Intel (SOT-A), multiple tours
the married couple didnt ask the other dude at all... he said well she says let's go, lets'go.. the other guy is like hmmm hold on on a sec.. naaa f that. you going., well turned out for the best anyway
Um..try $1850..and then they doubled their money on the Video Bonus Question. The highest record so far is $4100 from Season 3 (using the After Dark payouts)..a couple of NYC tour guides won $2050 (including the $250 Red Light Challenge), and they doubled their cash on the Video Bonus question.
Double Ride was only in Season 4, which just finished up on Monday. This was from Season 2 (under the old payouts: first 4 questions worth $25, second 4 worth $50, and all questions after worth $100).
I wonder if there's ever been cash cab frauds that trick people into thinking its the real cash cab then after all the questions have been asked and he reaches their destination the cab driver takes off the ben bailey mask and says " you wish this was the cash cab, bitches, now pay up and get the fuck out.
This is exactly the type of mindset that's wrong with this world. You actually can sit here and watch this and all you can think of is "how hasn't he got robbed yet".... lol tells how much of a loser you truly are... your defiantly going places in this world kid. 👌😅
That record was achieved via increased payouts PLUS a random double-ride selection. Don’t get me wrong the guy who won all that money had an excellent run and he did win the most money ever in the cab, but his payouts were inflated compared to the original payouts like these people had, so their record is the one that stands as the most meaningful because it was won with the lower payouts
