I have been in this game for over 30 years and my goal was never to work again I am a yeild Landlord and i left work at age 40 and i am now 65 I think there is a sweet spot in BTL and thats an income of 50k a year I own BTL mostly in personal name No Pay role No Dividends simple my wife and i own an SPV and she takes salary of 12k a year and she works and earns around 35k a year I feel there is a ceiing in BTL go above that and its not worth doing just to pay so much tax i am in the NE and 50k is well above the NE avrage As for capital growth i wont ever sell so its only a number on a balance sheet there is a major flaw with SPV and capial growth as the Company owns the property the Director can not benifit from capital growth unless the property is sold and if the property is sold the Company will pay corp tax of up to 25% the director who extracts the profit will pay dividend tax the total in the uk could be as high as 60% I am not putting a penny more of my money into BTL the massive plus the SPV has is it can fund SIPP and thats what i am doing the Great Day of BTL ended with S24 I feel personal taxation will get better for landlords but i think SPV wikk be taxed more and dividend tax rates will be at the same level as Income tax rates in the years to come Yeikd Yeikd all the way for me
