I agree, I am disappointed in our current direction, but I feel when we stop celebrating, it's a win for them. The current mess should not overshadow the past and like you said the accomplishments and sacrifices of the men and women before us. We should never forget them.
Hi Mike. Great job. I believe. With that shale like soil. There "SHOULD'NT" any soft spots. However. Will see the outcome of next year's spring thaw. We had 4 types of clay in our past Upstate N.Y house of 25 yrs. We mixed 5 yrs old manure w/ sawdust/ wood shavings to our garden plot. This reminded me of dark brown peat moss. It broke up the clay nicely. The clay & 2b limestone on our Vermont road. It help build up our main long driveway/ mailbox landing. I had serious driveway water erosion. Due to summer's heavy thunderstorms. I made a 9 inch wide sway 20 feet up our main driveway. It worked beautifully. The driveway held up for 15 yrs. A lot of manual work. I could be wrong here Mike, but it seems a long time since you played a classical piece over a part of your video. Could I name it ? No ,but I do believe a lot of it is soothing and mellows people. We finished off our 22-day, 7,050-mile, western adventure today. I drove with a van filled with Amish 2,900 pounds net, from Cairo Illinois where the Ohio Rive Meets the Mississippi River back here to Ohio. It is nice after a long drive to watch you spreading crushed stone.
Mike that is a great road you built ,good job. I also see that you have not fixed the deck railing after the tree fell on it last winter. My wife wouldn't let me play with my toys until I fixed the railing .

The road turned out great Mike. Your last load of crusher run seemed to have a lot more fines in it. I've seen variations from the quarry I deal with also. I think it has to do with where they are loading you from the "big" pile at the quarry. Happy 4th to you and your family!

Couldn't quite place the country group or tune starting around <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="251">4:11</a> - it doesn't sound like they're from around these parts. A real eclectic mix today.
Great job with the road building. Second to none. Just a tip here. If you want to eliminate 180° turn on a full bucket with a skid steer, when loading a trailer, back along side of the pile and tuck the back end of trailer in towards the pile at a 35° angle to your skidsteer loading plane. Then you only have to pivot 25° or so with skidsteer. Less wear and tear on undercarriage and the ground under you. Keep up with videos, they're very interesting and exciting. Thank-you.
I used to do Matt and seal when I worked for a local construction company. I have never seen stone spread that good even with a spreader gate on a dump truck. You did it up right! All you needed was a little tar in between layers and it would last of a good long time. Like it is, it will still last a long time. Yes, I understand that you didn't want to out that much in to the construction of the road but just making a point. HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!!
Mike, that is just a quality job, and Made in America. Not many companies work like that anymore as the skills necessary to run the equipment and the desire to do this kind of work is unfortunately fading away. The up-and-coming generation would rather stare at a phone and get a degree in something that will guarantee that they need their parents to survive. It’s a shame, but hope is coming. Jamaica - definitely! Been 3 times, but we will specifically NOT go on any cruise that includes a stop in Jamaica now-far too aggressive and had a watch stolen right off my wrist at an excursion. My second worst could be the excursion drop off area of St Lucia. I love the island, but we were threatened and verbally abused by a man by the little dirt parking area after returning from an excursion. I thought he was going to get physical, and I had my dad in a wheel chair.
