That happens allot more then you think actually. In the US at least if you buy a car from a police auction. You can bring it to your local police department next business day with you auction paperwork, and they'll have the dogs go through it for free just to make sure. My wife worked in law enforcement and that happened to someone. They brought the dog threw it and turns out the cops missed like 3 kilos of coke

It would be legal to keep, but youd have to explain it to the IRS privately with proof. You dont want law enforcement to find out, otherwise, they will make a case for seizure saying its evidence.

(drugs were also missing from the loot) and this happened in quebec, canada here you cannot carry more then 4k cash without giving a proper explanation of why you carry around so much.... well actually i think you can but if police see it they will take it from you and tell you go to court to get it back... and then you have to provide proof of why you had that much...

Didn't find a thing, just go back in their cars and left him there. Door panels were off, front and rear seats were taken out, headliner pulled down, spare tire cut open. His father tired to pursue the issue but the judge said, "probable cause" and they couldn't go after the ex because the cops shielded her.

I feel sorry for that Family. You know because they were compromised (when it wasn't their fault) that now they will probably he hunted and possibly killed for losing so much money. Especially the kids. Lose money like that, is like saying: "OK, we are ready to die." They better hope to God they traveled far far away from where they were headed.....or better yet in Jail. They'd be safer there losing all that money.
