I did see. These folks must have been strange to leave the change everywhere. I started putting pennies in a 5 gal gug back when I was a teenager (now 74), and filled the jar about 5 years ago. Its all the. Memorial type cents (figure abt 35,000) but I think I'll empty and get the earlier ones to pull out the ones all copper. If 25000 copper, that's $750!. Many of the fast food places are short of pennies now and seem to have some of the older coins in change.
BTW Taco. I bought a $50 storage unit last month. It has a small amount of loose change scattered in purses and totes. maybe about $3. But in one ziplock bag was four plastic tubes that had change already sorted. 1 Quarter, 1 dime, 1 nickel and then pennies. Add another $33 to the coin haul on a $50 unit. There had to be over $40+ in brand new Laundry, dish soap and cleaning products I could use without paying retail. And the little $50 5x5 might have taken 1 hour to clean out. TIME is MONEY too.
Wow! What a great amount of change! I stopped using coin machines bc they take a percentage from you. My bank doesn’t have a coin counter anymore either, so I just roll my change in the paper roll holders & turn them in that way. Blessings always to you and Salsa! ❤️😊🙏
Hi Taco - that's amazing, just goes to show how it all adds up. It helped pay for the unit. I put all my change in a pot here in England, and take it to a similar machine - it's fun. Great video - thanks Taco - take care 🙂
I'm glad to see you smile today. I know you were a little bummed over the unit the coins came out of as mostly clothes. I heard a better one! The buyer of the unit was excited because when he had looked in the unit seemed neatly packed to the hilt with clean Amazon and Uhaul boxes. The bid for this unit went up to 1,000. Every box was empty!
I used the Coinstar and put my $ on my Starbucks card. Now, I rarely get Starbucks. I like the idea of putting it on Amazon. I learned something new today! Thanks!
Thanks for sharing. I watch all of your videos not sure how I missed that you keep a change jar. I have several gallon jugs of change and have never used a coin star machine and didn't know you could redeem change for gift cards. My bank also requires that you roll your change and then they keep 3% of the total and you have to wait 72 hours for the money to hit your account. It's because of this that I just keep my adding on additional jugs, lol.
Wow, taco, that was pretty nice. There was a lot of coins in that unit. Well, that was about third of what you needed. But the other stuff you sail will give you a pretty clean profit. Good for you, sweetie, good to see Salsa❤😊❤😊😊😊😊
Why did the person who found a bunch of coins in an abandoned storage unit decide to use Coinstar? Because they figured, "Why stash away the treasure when you can turn it into instant cash and make cents of it all!"
Hope you’re having a great weekend 👍 thanks for the latest video. In the uk we use small plastic bags to bag up our coins into different denominations and the bank takes them & credit your account 😎
Did you get a haircut for your mother? Mother’s Day gift? My son sent me a picture of his hair cut and said that it was my Mother’s Day gift… little does he know just getting a picture is appreciated.
During covid, I put a bag of pennies in the car, and everytime I bought something, I would give them pennies, and after about 3 months, I got rid of the bag!
Coinstar says "no need to separate coins" (but you really should) because it often counts dimes as pennies. Dimes are smaller and sometimes fall into the penny slot.
I used to save all my pennies in jars because they were too much of a hassle to use. I would then have to insert them into those paper coin rolls and take a big bag of them to the bank to deposit them. I’d have a few dimes and nickels, too, so I had to use separate rolls for those. I’d have to count up everything and write my bank number on each roll. The first time I used a Coinstar machine was a revelation. It does everything I used to do by hand, and I got about $35 in Amazon credit my first time!
@@OldsmobileCutlass1969Va Yeah I know that but it's quicker and easier to check it with a magnet for the steel or iron pennies if he doesn't want to be bothered with checking the dates.
The pennies before 1982 have 3 cents of copper in them. That's one of the ways the coin machine folks make money off their machines. Bet there are other coins that are worth more too.
