What a fantastic performance by Al Jarreau and Randy Crawford. This duet song is one of many of AJ and RC songs. My wife and I just love's this song..... (baby making music) and the chemistry that AJ and RC had together was like magical.....(get a room already).....Lol The concert was fabulous.....I have the whole concert on tape, when it was recorded back then. Singer Randy Crawford is related to my wife....her cousin.
I am sure randy Crawford is as an angel sent down from heaven . Her smile and persona just oozes love and piece. Been listening to her my entire life 56 and I allways smile . Thankyou beautiful lady xxxx
Yes sir! Larry Carl-tone~!~ I was blind-sided one late night,, turned the car radio on, and they played one cut from his "STRIKES-TWICE" album from 1980, called, "MIDNIGHT PARADE"! THAT WAS IT FOR ME!!! I forgot all about my fav. band, the Allman Brothers (who I worshipped!) and never looked back! And I studied Larry's style & technique diligently, and it's paid off for me. When ever I jam at a blues club, or, a jazz club, the band members are always complimentary, and say nice things about the emotionallity and warmth of my playing, and I'm always QUICK to inform them of Larry's influence on me. And women always compliment my blues style, and one college girl approached me at the backstage offsteps and said: "Hey man,, you grabbed my ass man!!!" And I was somewhat shocked, and replied, "no,, I didn't do that!" LOL,, she laughed and said, "No man,, I mean your playing really got me deep inside!" I'm sure Larry has had his fair share of that sort of thing!!! LOL!
i remember listening to this over cheese eggs and pancakes for breakfast with my dad, playing records on saturday mornings... this album definitely influenced me musically and as a dj
I've must have listened to the cassette album cd iTunes version of this song at least 200 times since it came out in 1981 Yet this live original take here has such subtle intimate changes to it that are STILL leaving me in awe. Maybe its the site of them singing it that's been playing through my mind all these years. Thanks for the upload !!
I had not known of the Montreaux Jazz Festival until I heard this duo on the Casino Lights album. Attending the MJF has been on my bucket list since then...
I grew up to this in my vital teenage years. I don't know how many tapes and records of this I've churned through the years ... still as wonderful as I remember it, and with that early Yellowjackets setup that slowly turned my tastes in music towards more jazzy stuff! Awesome!
Thank you so much for loading this up here. I copped this album at a thrift store in San Diego like 7-8 years ago and died when I heard this. Was even more shocked to hear a different version of the same "time". Thank you so much again.
