I didn't expect to sub to you, but your format of showing all the screens one by one sold me, I feel like other reviewers forget that we don't have the watch in front of us to play with, so showing us everything is super important.
you are a really the most special youtuber and my personal favourite because you explain all the features of any device and you reply to all coments .No other youtuber does that
Hey Mike, Very impressive honest review, and just the review I was looking for to share on my channel. I mostly post about G-Shocks, and my audience is very curious about the features and performance of this new smart-G. Your conclusion, yes I did watch the entire video, was perfectly messaged out there, and reading some of the comments does have some mix feelings. I would like to see the ‘Map’ side with more coverage, and to know if it can be used like the Garmin Fenix’s and navigate you anywhere? Will share this video with my viewers on my community page.... big thanks with a big thumbs for making this show... cheers ;)
I’ve been in love with gshocks all my life cuz of the style and endurance. Been using a gba400 for 7 years now and an older one before that I lost. Confused as to how the tech will keep up for a watch that you expect to last about a decade. That’s what’s keeping me from hitting the buy button.
Thank you for the description, came close to purchasing it, I thought it would have came with solar capability but it’s a no go and hopefully the next model has a larger battery and newer processor and solar panel of course!
I have a T-Rex. It too is very durable, military grade standards. It does everything I need it to do. The battery lasts anywhere from 12 to 18 days depending on how much I use the GPS. To top it all off I paid 95 euros with delivery included. Oh and it only weighs 50 grams!
Nice watch... Wouldn't purchase any wear os watch till Google/Samsung reveal their collaboration and say if any older wear os watches will get new updates and features. Sticking with my Galaxy Watch 3/Ticwatch Pro 3 till then.Oh...spo2 sensor would've been nice addition also.
Can you use the touch screen under water? Can it have a battery replacement in years to come? How accurate is the altimeter? What colours can you make the watch face? Do you know if the gps is always on like a phone but not tracking your distance? Do you know what the glass is made of?
Should I upgrade from my MudMaster in 2022. Does watches require data connection when used either GPS/Maps? Which good for daily use GBD-H1000 vs GWS-H1000. (I am not a fans WeaOS). Thank.
I’m curious - I own the GSW-H1000 and I love it so far, but where did you get the processor information from? Casio didn’t mention the processor in any interview and you can’t see it in the inspector app either. There is also no info on the website. Besides that - everything is true, and yeah the 700 bucks really suck. I do hope they release the charging cable as a stand alone buy
Always loves G-SHOCK watch rugged aesthetic and this one looks hella awesome but sadly now not very good times to get Wear OS watches as the new gen Wear OS is coming very soon as teased by Google in the recent I/O event which promised to be massive upgrade from the current flawed smartwatch OS.
Hmm I have not used either in several years. Neither will receive updates for much longer. It may be worth considering a refurbished A51 or Pixel 3a if your budget allows
Great review and watch.. looks badass.. outdated processor and the $699 price tag the deal breaker for me 😫.. think I’ll be purchasing the Garmin solar instinct while keeping my gshock Gbd-h1000.
Hey Mike from where did you get the information that this watch uses the Wear 3100? Because other sources using AIDA64, Device Info, CPU-Z & kernel readouts conclude that the SoC is rather the Exynos 7270 used in the Samsung Gear S3
Why didn't they include Solar charging too ? or maybe casio sells these 1st then next year add solar to the next model for extra sales ! I own the GBD -H1000 and maybe not as "smart" but enough for me and with solar charging it never runs down.
But no updates doesn't mean less functional... This watch could also last you 10 years if you just keep using it. I've been using a Gear S3 since its release, which was 5 years ago. Last update is 2 months ago. Still works like a charm
That's a beast of a watch, I like the interface a lot having owned s G Shock. Agree that the app needs a refresh now and then. It's not for everyone so the analysis is correct
I have a gbdh1000 and my only complaint in if you do more then just running it only registers as a run. You can change it is strava but on the watch a bike ride is saved as a run. And from what I’m gathering the battery doesn’t last as long on the gswh1000. Thoughts?
Hi Mike, hope your doing fine and well, i was watching again your video review on the GSW-H1000 G SHOCK, and thinking of buying this thing, since it has good features, I'm a fan of G SHOCK since i also have the Mud master GWG-1000, so the only problem there is the battery where in if the GPS is turned ON then it will radically go down in a day perhaps?? but without using the GPS, it might prolong the battery life since this is also SOLAR POWERED...which may take the battery like 2 weeks maybe?? the to charge it again?? you have a great review and on your verdict...yes, depends on who will use it and on what aspect the watch will be helpful to the user..in terms of variable exercises in it. (it is a little similar to the TIC-WATCH PRO also google IOS) but of course since this is a G-Shock the vulnerability of the watch is 100% just having a 50-50 decision before buying it...but its a good source of thinking on your good review. thanks much. and stay well
Yeah it's a must have feature for a rugged and outdoor smartwatch, my brother's a forest surveyor basically looking for anything unusual in the forest reservoir, he has werkly and sometimes 10 days shift and his tent has no power connection (obviously), he loves the g shock watches so i'm waiting for a rechargeable version of the watch!
Hello you could tell me which is the last g shock 2022 that resembles the gaming phenix 7 gen 2 I really like the g shock but I can not get one of this brand better than a garming I have gbd h 1000 and ggb 100
Just a question, I'm stuck between this watch, an buying the Fenix 6x solar power. Fenix 6x will be 3 too 400$ more, I know for a fact the Fenix will get me in an out of wooded areas I've never been before without a phone needed. Will this watch by itself, with no phone needed, track me in an out of wooded areas I've never been? Or possibly be off course, or lost, will this show me how too get back on course? Everything else I love about this watch, an how much cheaper it is. I'm just needing too know it's GPS capabilities too make my final choice. Thanks too anyone who helps me with this question.
Never had a smart watch but avid Gshock fan. How long do you think this model would be good for? If this was Black/orange I'd buy, but figure I'll wait as I assume smart watches get improved upon pretty quick. Also normally get solar shocks. Does this not have solar as it uses so much power that it wouldn't help?
I dig it, had mine for a couple days now. The only thing I don't like is I can't find where to turn off the damn heart rate sensor. I changed my start button from activities to maps cause Im not into fitness, I'm into weather, location, and status because of my work.
Super cool smart watch. Yes the next version should have the solar panel integrated and a better Snapdragon processor. However, if you also own a Biolite stove, power bank or solar panel you’d be able to keep this H1000 charged in the wilderness no problem. I’ve had a G Shock Riseman for a decade and want a replacement BUT I’m gonna hold off to see if they do a 2.0 version of the H1000 in the next year.
I love G-Shock before I got into Apple Watch like 2 years ago, that’s all I would wear. I still have a few, I sold a couple I didn’t really wear any more..G-Shocks we’re always expensive tho..and now it’s combined with WearOS..I get why it’s so costly..but even tho with all it has and can do..the stuff that it CAN"T do should really lower the price a little bit
Love the watch. Bought it yesterday but sadly, most of the cool features don't work cuz I'm in CHINA and you need to VPN connection or at least install the VPN app into the watch to access all the cool features you mentioned. G-Shock app doesn't work and WEAR OS works partially.
This is by far not the only G-Shock that costs $700. G-Shock actually sells a pretty good number of expensive watches. the MR-G models for instance. Anytime you hear "G-Shock collector", think Sneakerhead. Similar fanaticism.
i had this watch before like 3 years ago sold it...the battery runs fast...thou i know its also SOLAR POWERED, but the battery runs down in only 2 days, or sometimes 1 day 1/2 then its already 1 bar left....its a good one but battery consumption is not really good.
I'll wait for next gen of this. Needs better battery life and hopefully better HR monitor since some of us do intervals-like activities (ie mtn biking). And price is a bit overpriced imo.
In the new Google conference, there are talks about the watch os getting updated. So will it trickle down to this watch as an update if you purchase it now ?
@@GordonSux That's an improvement since the first watch does it through the Move app. Picking up notifications used to take like 20-30 seconds to get to on the GBD.
I have the g shock move and it is almost perfect, the solar panel makes such a difference. This watch looks interesting, but until it gets solar charging ... no thanks. Nice review!
