Resin rot refers to the bezel and strap deteriorating, not to the actual hard resin case. The resin cases are not as delicate as you make them out to be, although you are right about having to be careful about the lugs when messing with the spring bars. I have a 5000u, and it's a great watch, but so is the 5610.
I agree that the resin watch case is quite durable, but not the lugs. There's a risk that they may brake and crack. Especially the Rangeman has a history of weak lugs. A watch case is quite worthless if the lugs or lugholes are damaged. The lugs on a steel case will never brake though.
I have had the Rangrman GW-9400-1 for 5 years with no issue with the lugs. Maybe it was a batch problem. I got another Rangrman had it for 2 years and no issues and I use it for everything. Maybe the lug issue is blown up a bit.
My GW-M5610 1ER has exactly the same features (two dashes in the alarm mode, it shows the current time in the stopwatch and timer modes , the month-day order is interchangeable, multilingual, it shows complete letters in the city code and light 1 or 3 seconds)
Thanks for this excellent comparison. I have the 5610U-1ER, it has the same module as the 5000. However, I believe that the 5000 is longer lasting because of the steel body. If I had known earlier, I would have paid the difference of 120 euros. But so far I'm happy with my 5610. Interesting that you show the universal YY : MM : DD format for the date on your video. 00:15 That's the format I prefer for my computers, phone and watch. It also makes the 3495 update unnecessary. I may take out the 3495 module in my GW-5000 and replace it with a 3159, so I can have the Bluetooth function. I have a 5600 with solar, it's OK. EDIT - typo corrections
@@adsagp Not just size. Contact position differences, functionality differences may cause different artwork on the lens, so it doesn't line up with the display. The forums are the best places to find that out. Nothing ... is ever as simple as it looks.
i wish it has a Pedometer and Daily tracker. :3 I do not need Blutooth or other fancy (and possibly toxic to the body) wave signals. I just ordered a 5610-U for $87. can't wait for it.
@landstar6444 as long as I know it's not constantly blasting the waves out. ;3 I know the default radio waves is timed every 4 hours. I like this 5610-U. It's so durable.
*Comment on US month/date order vs Euro date/month order: When creating computer files that sort by newest, the US system is better: Year/Month/Date. Looking down at your watch, it is better to see in the correct order.
