Just got this bad boy for $3 at the thirft store

Looking at the pictures on the sales pages it shows many small indices or dots located around the outside edge of display from about the 12 0oclok position to maybe 8 oclock position. I like the look but can not find out what they are and what they are for. On pwr-30 as well. Do you have any idea what they are?

Hi how do you calibrate the altimeter, i went down to the coast and I got a negative reading - which didn't make sense. This was at the Cape Point in South Africa
