Back in the day (late 90's is my back in the day lol), you could get alot of channels on portable tv's. And let me tell you this shit was BEYOND cool back then.
1982 baby here… My dad bought me one of those in the 90s and I felt like I was living in the future! I remember watching Unsolved Mysteries under the covers… scared out of my mind 😅 Those composite photos seemed to jump out of the screen! Fast forward to 2024 and I’m lying in bed watching nostalgic videos and true crime channels on either my tablet or phone 😌
What nostalgic. I remember the very first time I saw this pocket TV, far back in 1996, I was ten yo, and I stil remember its owner saying "this screen is made of Liquid Crystal", and the efforts of my childish mind im trying to understand what the hell liquid crystal even meant... 😍🤭
Growing up in 90s this was a dream but it was like 300-500 dollars, do people realize a TB block (not card) was 500 in 2000s bro SD cards were 100s y'all have no idea how lucky kids Born in 2000s are Fun Fact: these portable tvs grew in popularity cause of the OJ trial and sports crazy huh
X los años 80 oi hablar de un tv chiquito pero nunca lo ví en vivo de solo en foto, era una tecnología futurista algo similar a un 📱 de hoy ,que fascinante
I remember me and my brother watching the Red Sox playoff games in 2004 on our portable tv (that we pooled out money for) while at some school event. There were a bunch of people huddled around watching the little 4inch screen
@@dougfisher1813 Nice. I remember being in my mom's car and listening to Jeopardy on the radio which was 87.7FM. Wheel of Fortune was a bit more difficult to play via audio-only.
My family and I had a Sony portable TV! Could these portable TVs be powered off an original Game Boy AC adaptor? I once had a Gamester car adaptor, which had separate Game Gear and Game Boy modes, and at one point during a car journey where I was playing a lot of Game Gear, after not playing for a while, I saw the car adaptor was in Game Boy mode and it was being used to run our portable fan!
@@Woodys_Hobbies I've been watching other videos besides this one after I commented on this one and yes it is but mine I can plug into like VCR jacks or something like that and also I live up by Seattle WA and I haven't gotten anything yet with just the antenna yet but I do live in a dip also so I'm going to take it into town next and give it a shot and see what happens next but anyway thanks for the video and I hope that you're day is as awesome as you are my friend 😎👍
this is not true at all. you can in fact play ps5 on this. you just need an hdmi to av or coaxial converter. then you get the right balun plug that you need and put it into the top antenna ext port.
@@maskedathiestHDMI TO AV SUCKS but HDMI TO RF also great and also HDMI2VGA and VGA TO VIDEO for Geometry shape size like you want to cutoff 16:9 image to 4:3 video.. you can’t do that on HDMI2AV. Designed only for 16:9 TVs.
@@maskedathiest mine looks just like this one but it doesn't have to antenna hole on the top it's got an audio hookup on the side underneath the antenna I just got it and I'm still tinkering with it I live in a valley up by Seattle and one chanel one UHF is trying it's making some noise I'm going to take it into town next and see what happens when the wife needs to go shopping 😁
Unlikely, or at least the amount of work required to make it functional would destroy the portability of this TV. You would need to figure out how to convert the digital video and audio output from a PlayStation 5 to analog, and the screen would be too small to see much of anything. You would also have to plug this portable TV into its included power supply and be tethered to your nearest outlet as it would eat AA batteries like candy.
I snagged one of these a few years back where someone spliced the wiring for power to accept USB and has a separate spliced wiring to allow input for AUX video/audio.
@@Woodys_Hobbies This sent me looking for mine (in nearly new condition) as I knew it has AV input via 3.5 mm stereo headphone type plug, as I use it as a display for my Jakks Pacific Pac Man game 😀 The explanation is that mine is a TV-880B. It does however, lack the external antenna input. Anyway, thanks for sharing, interesting that the analog channels are still running there.
