I’m sure this is a great run and I’d love to watch more, but I was actually convinced by just a few minutes of gameplay to give it a try myself and don’t want anymore spoilers!
i reviewed it at like a 9/10. it's 100% one of the best indie games that came out last year. Not quite top 10 matieral but i enjoyed the crap out of it. The soundtrack alone is *Chef's kiss*
Was told the Diamond run was a good watch particularly for Corvimae’s commentary, really enjoyed it, came here after, and had a great time here too. I expected it to mostly be a neat Pokemon clone and there’s clearly way way more going on with it - now I’m definitely interested in actually playing it myself.
The elemental exploitation system, the whole 'bootleg' system (shinies with a type change), and the sticker system for learning and passing around moves are some real gems.
Wild, I beat the game today, only thinking about watching a Speedrun, and then it turns out you uploaded this like right before I beat the game. Amazing luck.
RU-vid randomly recommended same old story to me last week and I had an absolutely uncontrollable desire to replay the game. The only time loss I had was buying it for my friend so he could try it out too. I... did not realize it was that easy to resonance cheese bosses. That is as cool as it is scary.
This speedrun made me buy this game 3 days ago. Today i saw the credits after 16h and i loved every second of it. Thanks Corvimae for showing me this game and making me buy it. I didn‘t regret it and i loved your run a lot!!
Even if you knock it out when you encounter it for the first time, Averevoir will show up again on random locations for you to record again and again. There is no monster in this game that gives you only one chance to record.
I am glad to have watched Mae's awesome run on Twitch. Cassette Beasts is my Game of the Year in 2023, so thank you, Mae, for giving the game such an amazing presentation. Anyone interested in monster collecting game needs to check out this masterpiece of a game.
