People need to remember that for 2004, this was pretty awesome. Yea it still is entertaining to watch now, but we've been spoiled since this was released. Always one of my favs that none of my friends ever heard about.
This movie was dope back when it released, none of us have seen something like this. It was pure originality because Hillywood movies were infested with pointless remakes and garbage sequels
I had never heard of Casshern. I came here because I looked something up for DMC5, then looked if Bayonetta had something to do with DMC, they had the same director, Bayonetta was from Platinum Games who had also done Vanquish, found out that Vanquish took inspiration from Casshern, got me interested and then looked for anime scenes of Casshern on RU-vid and found this. Looks pretty good for 2004. Wish more tried to go for a style of their own.
When he spun dove into the robot I wanted to cry of joy. 🤣 Nostalgia for the 70s anime went through the F roof, I was about to overload. 😂 Cheers from Italy.
The audio is exactly the volume it should be to give you a better dynamic range. The ability to adjust it on your own with a properly configured system without blowing out the lower frequencies is THE POINT.
I felt more depth in this movie than all the Marvels, DC and X men put together. Yeah the moral of it at the end was long but it hit home to me and the characters portrayed in this film was used so well to reinforce it 👍
When I saw this in 2004 I actively sought it out . Matrix revolutions had just came out also . The machine army fight happened at Zion but this also happened. The end
Yeah I remember lying in bed stoned beyond any reasonable degree and suddenly you get subjected to this movie. Afterwards I wondered if it was just confusing because of what state I was in, but that really wasn't the problem. A fantastic hot mess, but it was vibrant, alive and it does try to bring homage to the source material in a way that seems so foreign, especially nowadays.
this looks super cool. very stylish. i just can't believe that after doing all that damage to those robots that he's having a super difficult time with the out of shape flubby chubby dude lolll.
Love this movie(watched it three time on the trot when i first got dvd), ..one of my all-time films and def one of my favourite scenes! ..a living Anime! ..a 'marraige', absolutely on the edge! Brilliant !!!
That was a very good movie for that low budget and for these years 2004. Just 7 milion of dollars of production. Nice story and a good production for that old 1971 anime.
Awesome movie.. It is far better than the most Live Action Movies I saw yet and it's reached my personal favourites of movies in general. I think that the color style combined with the very special soundtrack really creates a wonderful background behind a very special story. The sociocritical aspects are great even if it seems that they tried to implement too many of them in a movie that is a bit too short for all of them.. *thumbs up*
Haha yeah I'm definitely sure that in the right hands, live action anime (which is totally contradictory) can be amazing. This is the only example so far.
