damn I still love Cass after all these years. Lyrically he's out of this world...dudes like him is why I fell in love with rap in the first place. Can't wait for the new album and for him to step back into the battle rap world but only on URL. It really feels good to here some FIRE BARS. Now to kids that don't get it, go back and listen again and see how much more shit you hear, then do it again. Then imagine having multiple artists and styles to choose from making the kind of albums you listen to for weeks and still might hear or pick out a dope punch line or metaphor that you didn't hear before. At a point we kinda got used to having plenty of that around and then it damn near disappeared so when people say there's not enough real rap to choose from this is what we're talking about. Whether or not it's better than all this new school "mumble" rap is an opinion but it's nice to have to figure songs out sometimes instead of hearing a couple words, that may or may not even rhyme, and then the hook once and being able to pretty much perform the song. It takes skill and time to come up with that shit and when you hear that "shits not happening" type lines, you gotta give props. Cass is definitely one of the all time greats.
This shit right here is why mumble rap ain't real rap or hip hop. Mumble rap is a bit disrespectful as a genre label but it's more disrespectful to say this mumble style is the same genre as hip hop or rap. Props Cassidy, Barz on Deck Son!
