I've thought that, it would have been cool if you decided to cast it if there were two options like: "Crucio!" and "Crucio..." and if you picked the option with elipses it failed, because you were uncertain about doing it. Then after a cutscene of that, maybe there's the "Crucio!" option where you get it right this time, or an option like "On second though, I can't do this" and you can back out and have him do it instead. The outcome would be the same in the end, but I feel like it would have had a bit more character.
The fact that they didn’t do this just adds a whole new layer to Sebastians character. He had to want to cause pain. Maybe not specifically to the MC but in general he wanted it. Maybe more out of curiosity than anything. But still that’s a tad messed up. He also wasn’t nearly as put out as Ominus was about the pain either if he casts it. Even Harry who tried to cast crucio at Bellatrix failed even in the heat of the emotional moment. If you choose to cast it, then I think the desire to cause pain is implicit in that decision. But if you choose to have Sebastian cast it, and it works the first time, like that raises questions… On the other hand, it would have been interesting if they had somehow compared the pain of crucio from like say one of the dark wizard poachers vs something done by a student between friends or acquaintances. Like would it be more intense coming from someone truly evil. I dunno. Doubt they’ll address it, but it is an interesting thought experiment nonetheless.
i was shook when Sebastian just cast it like it was nothing - i felt super betrayed lmao i thought he was our friend before, but after that i was super sus of him
I was so heartbroken that Sebastian didn't even argue over using the spell on us. And then he just moves on quickly without even making sure that we're totally fine? Yep. Heartbroken.
@@SirFoxbutt I am in Slytherin, asked him if he was okay around 6:09 where she just stays silent in this vid. I wonder if theres a hidden affection meter...
That friendship will be over and both you and Sebastián will be in Azkaban. 😂😂😂 Ominis, as nice as he is, we know he's got a temper, and connections he's not afraid to exploit! 😛
@@lorenzoguerrero7520 No, if Seb casts the spell on you, he asks “are you alright?” Immediately after. If you cast it on Seb, Ominis asks him if he’s alright.
@@Clarestovold Actually I've played through it twice and both times had Sebastian cast it on me and both times Ominis asked if I was alright, not Sebastian. After watching other people's playthroughs weirdly enough I've concluded that if you play a girl character Ominis asks it and if you're a guy Sebastian asks it. Not sure if you cast it on Sebastian though.
@@jMichaels878 I was playing a girl character and Sebastian was the one that asked if I’m alright, so I have no clue what dictates which boy asks it then. Maybe it’s to do with the house you’re in? Though I don’t know why the game would change that. I played as a Ravenclaw witch and Sebastian was the one who spoke. What was your house?
somehow "You're my friend and I don't want to torture you, I can take the pain cast it on me. Oh, but I'd still love to learn how to torture people for my own use" feels like a much darker choice than just casting it on Sebastien.
Bruh why is Ominis the only one who sounds appropriately concerned in this scene? Sebastian and MC are both just kinda blase about the whole thing, when either of them cast it they look worried for like five seconds and then get over it. It's a bit disappointing, especially considering Seb is supposed to be our best friend or something, I mean he's the one we do the most quests with. I guess this is just another reason why Ominis was always my favorite from the start, lol.
Bruh its because our MC and sebastian are goats and they know whats gotta be done its either you use crucio and escape the room or don't and die in that room
Right down the hallway to. Not even 20 feet away. Plus we’re with a gaunt looking for his aunt who can all speak parcel. We got bated good on this one.
@@niks660097 Yup. I knew straight away, since he had the surname Gaunt. Plus the fact that he is blind, something that indicates about the incest in his bloodline.
I feel really bad for Ominus throughout the game. It just feels like, Sebastian and Ominus were such good friends, but when the MC walks into the picture, Sebastian is pretty ready and willing to betray his old friend and tell all his secrets to gain the confidence of someone who he sees as being a more useful ally. Seriously though, Sebastian is willing to keep Ominus’ secrets until it benefits himself. Would it have hurt him to have asked permission of Ominus before telling them about the undercroft? And Ominus isn’t stupid, like he says here, of course Sebastian had told the MC about his very personal very painful experience with his family and the curse. What a betrayal of friendship. I really don’t blame him for being hurt by it all. And if Sebastian is so willing to betray Ominus for his own benefit, at what point would he be willing to betray the MC to benefit himself?
Yeah... the fact Sebastian is irritated that Ominis doesn't want to cast Crucio to get out of there (or even considering letting him do it) when he knows the trauma it caused him that he's still dealing with, says a lot about his view on things. He's the true Slytherin from what we've always heard from them in the books/movies. And he's going dark. At the same time I can't help but think he can be saved, but he's also just to easily lured by the dark arts whenever he wants something. Too singleminded I guess. Though I do think losing his uncle and therefore losing Anne did finally open his eyes for at least a little.
If you think more about it from ominis perspective sebastian betrayed him. Because he didn’t know we (main character) were reliable at all, we could tell someone about his past and he would be problably expelled, Sebastian practically turned him in. I would be in rage
@@victoriapiva3467 not sure he would be expelled since his family has ties with Black and all. But Sebastian betrayed his trust multiple times. Telling about the Undercroft (that he even says is special to Ominis), the story about his childhood that wasn't his to tell (in hindsight that's the smallest betrayal) and letting Ominis think he won't do dark arts again or go to after the relic etc. He was so focused on getting that cure for Anne that he didn't even realize what a sad excuse for a friend he had become
@@steph0711 I mean I’m not a lore expert, but if you use the 3 unforgivables you go to Azkaban (even if you are under 18), the only way not to go is if you were under imperio (which ominis was not). So Sebastian fucked up ominis forever, if the main character decides to tell someone even prof black can’t save him from Azkaban, because this is ministry business bigger than hogwarts. Anyway in conclusion sebastian is a piece of s…
Interesting how Sebastian will ask if you're okay after casting it on you, but when you do it, you don't even ask if he's okay ahahaha (and Ominus, a sweetheart checks on the inflicted regardless on who it was)
the fucking joy and happy expression of the MC while learning the unforgivable curses. awh man how I wish they did more details and put more effort into writing such serious topics
Sebastian is writhing and grunting on the floor a LOT longer than the MC, lol. Our boy fully got laid out. I thought it'd be a lot worse, honestly. our elbows didn't even hit the ground. MC took it like a CHAMP. Fell to our knees for 13 seconds then pushed right back up off the ground, looking like I just got punched during a period cramp. Not great but given this curse is _unforgivable,_ I'd be expecting worse. I'll take it as Sebastian not really wanting to hurt us all that much, and MC's being a little more intense because they've slain SO MANY ENEMIES by this point, _the bloodthirst shall not be quenched._ (My bloodthirst is nothing compaired to my BF playing this. I just hear him saying "Knee High, Gotta Die!" and the screams of Ranrok's forces.)
the scene would have been so much more impactfull for me if the screams would have been more agonizing. Like the scream from Hermione when Bellatrix tortured her. For being under the literall torture curse, Sebastian/MC sounded relativly relaxed 😂
I tried both. Honestly his reaction when you get hit by the curse comes off as uncaring lol. He was quite happy to have the curse done on him so we could all leave, so I stuck with that one.
I love this game for scenes like this. It’s so dark and covers adult themes well even hits you with morally difficult decisions that have no morally right answer. God this game is so damn good
I use Crucio on Sebastian for his own good. I didn't want him to use dark magic and get used to it. Bec I thought that if he will do this for once he'll become bad - but if he knew how crucio felt then he think twice before using it.
I had the curse be put on me. If I'm to inflict curcio on others it's only fair that I know what kind of spell I'm putting on others. Plus a Slytherin trait is leadership and I feel a leader needs some bad experiences to help them make future decisions.
@@Noneforsale A true Slytherin would go out of his way to protect his friends, because they are the tools to his own success. Plus eating a Crucio is just fun >:)
Plus let’s be honest here ours hits much harder then his and we have a natural defense do to ancient magic. So for the sake of all of us there us taking it is probably the better choice anyway.
I used it on him because Ominis said "if you cast it you'll regret it forever" and i didn't want either of them to feel bad 😭 A few sec of intense pain >> emotional damage
Hitting sebastian with it and him going "I would have done anything to make [the pain] stop" I feel like that was him lowkey trying to tell Ominis to stop blaming himself ; n;
I had Sebastian cast it on me, but now i realize the right answer is to cast it on him. He's ambition needs to be tempered a bit, it leads to many Slytherins turning into dark Wizard. Him seeing how Ominis felt would've been a powerful lesson.
I spent the whole scene asking if I could cast it on him yet when the decision came I was weakened by my complete inability to choose the mean dialogue options and got it cast on myself
Sebastian didn't really argue or rush to us apologising when he did the curse. He didn't ask if we were sure or insist he teach us so he'd be the one to be cursed. When it's his option to speak to Ominis, he doesnt GO to his friend like we do, he just stands staring at the door as they talk. Out of the two, Ominis sounded so much more concerned for us than Sebastian. Am I alright?? What do you think, I'm on the floor in agony! Then again, we don't do much more than look really troubled when we see Seb in pain either. It's a hard scene to watch either way...
The Protagonist: *falling on their knees due to so much pain and agony, feeling as if nails are being hammered into their body and feeling as if they’re going to die* Sebastian: are you alright? 😮
this scene could have had so much more impact depending on the choices you made, its one of the many scenes they missed the mark on i feel, its like in the books and movies and even in what ominis says about it the cruciatus curse is this big ominous spell that leaves the caster regretting their decisions and the recipient left in agonising pain and feeling traumatised even perhaps going insane from it and yet all that happens in this scene is one of the two characters cast the spell, the other wriggles on the ground for a bit and then gets up like nothing happened. personally i still wouldnt wanna cast it on sebastian cause i as the player from an omnipotent stand point have an emotional attachment to the character and i actually feel guilt and regret for my actions in the game regardless of the fact that they have no real consequences, and thats another thing, due to the fact that there are no real or even emotional consequences in the game, the player can do as they please and it doesnt matter because 9 times out of 10 the choices dont matter anyway. i would say the only part of the story that has any real emotinal consequences depending on your choices is the ending with fig but even then that does change much, *spoiler alert* but if you pick to keep the magic sealed you get to see him again before he dies and if you choose to open it to the world you dont get to see him again, either way he still dies, the lack of change and consequence makes the story somewhat boring when it could have been better. dont get me wrong, this is still a great game to play, but the lack of change in the choices and the lack of consequences plus the overall plot holes really take the game down a notch for me. again dont get me wrong, i love it but its got so much more potential and the creators have really not let it reach its full potential because of these little details. again this is just my opinion, you dont have to agree but if you dont theres really no need for slander or to be rude. this is a happy and safe community and we should all treat eachother kindly and with respect.
Reading the comment section, it seems I was one of the few to use it on Sebastian rather than take one for the team. I just didn’t wanna waste my wiggenweld potions, lmao. I understand why im a Slytherin lol
I'm a Ravenclaw, but I made the same choice. I just thought, for sure, he will behave like a real man and take this pain on himself anyway. In this case, why not simplify the task and choose it as a target right away.
I just kinda considered what Ominus(?) was saying about how casting the curse changed him and I didn't want that to happen to Sebastian. I'm afraid he's the type of person to take it lightly and continue to use it
I wanted to learn it to use on people who deserve it (dark wizards and poachers. Enemies.) and I like to be powerful haha but I had him cast it on me because I'd never do that to a friend or innocent person. I'd feel terrible about it, so OFC taking the hit is the only option.
"She had no one to cast the curse on" There is actually... Just find any living being, there are spider webs so there are definitely spiders around + if there isn't, just cast it on herself.
TWO POINTS HERE WITH MAJOR SPOILERS - - - - 1. Very interesting that Ominis points out in both situations that for Unforgetable “you have to mean it”. This proves that our darling Sebastian did want to kill his uncle and makes his story much much darker imho cause it can’t be “the fury of the moment” or anything like that. 2. Are we gonna talk about the fact that MC / Sebastian get tortured and are back on their feet right away, whereas Natsai gets tortured just a bit longer and needs recovery in a wheelchair ? Quite incoherent if you ask me, but hey, the game is too good to focus on this ; )
Natty being hurt worse after getting crucio'ed by Harlow could feed into the point that Bellatrix made to Harry Potter - that he couldn't hurt her because he wasn't genuinely cruel enough. One can definitely believe that Harlow has more cruelty and sadism than you or Sebastian, therefore his cruciatus curse was much stronger.
It’s not specified how much you have to mean it. Sebastian probably meant it at least a little bit since his uncle was trying to kill and murder the main character with a massive inferno.
[SPOILER] Regarding the issue that you have to mean it... Compare our/Sebastian's reaction to the curse to what happens to Natsai in the end. Same curse, but a totally different level of pain. At least that is what made me think about this scene again.
Yep, and it works with the books' canon too. Harry Potter is able to use crucio on Bellatrix, but the effect is very weak because he wasn't malicious enough.
I am concerned by how high Sebastian's pain tolerance is. Why is it so high. He took the Crucio heck of a lot better than MC. And no yelling, no screaming, only grunts. This is not normal. Seriously, what is his pain tolerance. Sebastian, baby, are you okay?
My personal guess is that neither MC nor Sebastian truly meant their curses. We know Crucio can work even if one doesn't truly mean it - it would bring the red light and brief pain, but no longer lasting effects. Another example of this half-Crucio would be when Harry casts it on Bellatrix in book 5. She is hit with it, she falls over from brief pain, but she recovers quickly and says that he didn't truly mean it and it won't work from just being angry and that the caster actually needs to not only mean the pain but to also enjoy the pain they are causing (another thing neither MC nor Sebastian here does). Compating this to an actual Crucio, where the pain is long, lasting and drawn out, where victims twich, scream and pass out, I'd say that both MC's and Sebastian's curses resemble more of what Harry casted in book 5.
I let him cast it on me, but now that I think about it, I feel like he should've insisted on the MC casting it on him. He's the one that got everyone into this mess in the first place!
It's almost cruel that the Cruciatus Curse hurts Sebastian more than us. Here we are, simply brought to our knees; while Seb is half sprawled out on the ground. It's not fair.
Sebastian's second true step on the road to darkness... the first being the moment he found "magick moste evile" in the restricted section. I'm pretty sure he actually learned the three unforgivables with that damn book. Why the heck would something like that be in a school is beyond me
Should have been more frightening. It is so telling that Sebastian was willing to torture you if it meant getting a little closer to helping cure Anne, but the torment really didn't seem that extreme. And I laughed when Sebastian said, "Are you alright?" Like, bitch?
after what ominis said sebastian saying “i think i can cast it if i have to” made me think he agreed casting it was worse than being the target so i casted it on him but now i realize he just hadnt known the spell too well opps
Why did I let him cast it on me despite having him teach me? Maybe it was as thanks for his generosity. Or maybe its because knowing firsthand the pain it inflicts will allow me to use it more effectively
Tourched faces on the stone and crucio etched on the floor, my guess if we have to cast it on one of us. Of course that’s what it means what else could it be. Everyone gets icecream?
Seb: not sure if I can cast crusio but I’ll try Also Seb: cast imperio and avada kedavra without hesitation and knows about them enough to teach us Oh how I love you Sebby boi
That reaction to the Cruciatus curse is a fucking disappointment. According to Harry, who had experienced this curse a few times, the effect of the curse was worse than that of “one thousand white-hot knives boring into the skin”. It's supposed to be the torture curse, yet she acted like she got hit in the gut! I mean sure, even if he didn't mean to really cause her Voldemort crucio levels of pain, his crucio, even if only 1/1,000 as painful as Voldemort's, then it should have been at least as painful as being stabbed by a white-hot knife. But not, it was like 1/100,000 as weak. Pathetic.
@@kaileesi902 So he got folded like he got hit in the gut with an above average strength punch? You're still missing the point with excruciating pain. You lose the ability to support your weight. You completely lose body control. You just fall and collapse regardless of what part of you hits the ground first. He falls slowly while clutching his stomach. He uses his right hand to support his weight as he collapsed. It's just poor execution.
@@thirteen26 he literally collapses to the ground tho??? and idk what you were expecting considering even in the movies they dont show the crucio effects that graphically except maybe in the last one ? like its a pg game they were not gonna put torture 4k in extreme detail ? ijbol ntm its not real so nobody actually knows what being cursed by crucio looks like ?? 💀
@@kaileesi902 I'm not responsible for your simplicity and lack of imagination. If you didn't get what I said with the words I used, I'm afraid nothing will. Also I wasn't asking to see graphical torture. Crucio doesn't leave any visible physical evidence of torture. "It's not real so nobody actually knows what being cursed by crucio looks like" That's utter stupidity. You know what's not real? Harry Potter. He's fictional so nobody actually knows what he looks like. For the last time, crucio is the torture curse. It is a crime punishable by lifetime imprisonment. "Voldemort raised his wand, and before Harry could do anything to defend himself, before he could even move, he had been hit again by the Cruciatus curse. If your standard is that shitty, well that's on you. I just can't stand people's lack of imagination. Just pathetic ugh I ain't even gonna bother finishing this fucking sente
The magic of chadness makes you resistant to unforgivable curses, hmmm. If MC gets hit with 'Avada Kadavra', take a wigglywhatever potion and you're right as rain.
I didnt want to hurt my pookie so i told him to cast it on me instead. But i wanted to watch this to see what he would look like while under the curse and its kindaaa 🤭
Crucios is meant to be unforgivable curse that tortures the user. Id expect the reaction to the pain be a little bit more than stubbing a toe 😐. Atleast sebastian looks like he got punched in the gut hut that still is underwhelming
Not gonna lie this is probably the lamest portrayal of an unforgivable curse I’ve ever seen. Looks no different than any other spell meant to cause harm and doesn’t even sound like it’s pain greater than anything.
i thought as much, but then i found him in the undercroft and asked him to teach me anyways. i guess i understand him and i wouldn’t say no to any form of magic and knowledge. though i don’t use it, but i want to know it? idk
