Gotta love a man that is that dedicated to his cast iron! That is a very old pot and would cost a fortune to buy today. You've brought that lovely, old pot to life again. I am always finding and restoring old cast iron. Great job!
If you’re only concerned about the inside of the pot you can simplify the process by using the pot as the e-tank. Fill kettle with water solution, hang sacrificial piece(anode) in kettle, attach negative to kettle and positive to sacrificial(anode).
Youre allowed to attempt to tell your wife all the project details (she will probably turn sideways and roll her eyes) but probably best to save the story for a buddy or two while standing around a firepit. If anyone ever mentions your first chili in pot is gritty just act like you dont hear them. Great job
That was interesting,but you mentioned paint a few times thats where I'm confused. Why was paint on there to begin with? I would love to have a set of cast iron cookware but it's to hard to find.
I’d heard that too lol, that charging the battery whilst using it as the power source can make it go boom. I’ve never done anything like this before so I’m trying to do as much research as possible before starting, I’ve got a cast iron cauldron covered in paint, an old car battery charger, and a big plastic storage box but need to figure out what kinds of wires I need.
