We don't have a boat right now but wanted some fresh fish. The kids and I took the cast net to explore local ponds and catch some invasive species to cook up for dinner. #castnetfishing #catchleanandcook #freshwaterfishing
Steve, John from Sarnia here. Was that your little girl driving? OMG they grow up fast don’t they? All the best to you and your wonderful family, God Bless you all.

@@vanderbaanswildlife Yea, the one thing about freshwater fish is that they taste muddly. My grandpa used buttermilk or milk to help with that. Glad I could help. Stay blessed.
Steve… you and your awesome family were designed to fish Florida… you always bring home dinner. Wonderful video as always… welcome home brother. I once worked for the Cal’ Fish & Game Dept. and we seeded imported Tilapia from South America for mosquito abatement. They are called Mosquito Fish for a reason… I tried cooking some but didn’t dig it. Buy you see it all the time in the grocery store now.
Welcome back. I was wondering where you were cause I hadn't received any notifications from your channel. What happened to your boat? I haven't taken out my boat since July. I changed out the shifting cable on my port side outboard and it needs adjusting. I've been too busy with work that I haven't called my boat mechanic to come fix it. I don't know how to do the adjustments. Gotta learn. Hope all is well with you and your family. 🙏
Life gets crazy sometimes, I did cables in our boat not long ago. Kind of a pain in the neck! Now we have a problem with the electric helm. Could be another month before we get the parts, so frustrating.
What do you say subscriber's can we all pitch in to help our friend Steve get his boat fixed so we can see him fishing and diving again and bringing us great videos every week??? Come on brothers help brothers ! WWJD!!!❤
Your the man! Reminds me of a bumpersticker my uncle had, Plano, "Dont let yours be the one that got away"! So true! And Nope!!! I only eat saltwater fish!! They are all muddy!! Bluegill tails and deep fried is the only freshwater fish ill eat,and 1or2! Saltwater is waaaay better! Glad to see yall back! Great content!! Have a good one bud!
I love Perch crappie blue gills but every know and then I get a muddy one. Salt water is all most always good I had one gag grouper that was muddy but that only happened once and we eat them all the time. Thanks for the support brother 💯
I hate tilapia too. Fresh/frozen doesn’t matter. Should have kept the gar. Glad to see you are posting again. List the parts you need and let the community try and help. All the best!
We don't have tilapia in my area of Florida, but what we do eat a lot of is mullet. River caught mullet can be very "muddy" tasting. One trick we use here is to soak the fish in saltwater overnight, changing out tye water twice. We then coat them in heavily salted and peppered yellow cornmeal before deep fat frying.
saw yall at boca yesterday, all my siblings was makin fun of me for freaking out when i saw u guys 😭😭. i love ur family man, u guys seem to always have so much fun together
Wow that's awesome I honestly don't know you had them over there!!!! So cool to hear from you! I pray that you are ok over in Israel I hear its been very bad🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💕
@@vanderbaanswildlife Heck yeah, have twin 200 Yamaha’s. Been loving it man! I no it’s been a little windy but the offers there brother. Trying to get out the weekend of the 6th hopefully. Good to hear the parts are on there way!
Thank you for your input because I feel like I out on a limb here! So many people say different but I love fish and eat a lot of different kinds and this one is not my fav!!!!
Maybe it's just me but freshwater fish don't taste that good. I've even tried peacock bass n I took one bite n threw it out I'll stick to my saltwater fish to me they taste so much better
They brought them in to try and control non native aquatic plants I believe. Turns out they're aggressive and run bass off the beds and eat the eggs I believe.
Wow!! Is it good to see the great man back!! Incredible stream Steve & the video turned out even better. Even got a shout out in there 😂 also.. your coleslaw really is the greatest ! 🫡😂
