This is the best Korean historical drama I’ve seen in at least 5 years. Fast-paced, funny but also deep and emotional, with a lot of bold social/political commentaries (which I think are still relevant today).

Shin Se Kyung is very articulate. I love her acting in this drama. I won't be surprised if she wins an award. Cha Eun Woo and Se kyung have a great chemistry too! Kudos to all the casts. The plot is so good 😍

Shin Saekyeong has such a good voice, it's so soothing. And of course Cha Eunwoo is like the cutest prince ever in this drama.

Shin Se Kyung is such an amazing actress. I dont know of other dramas she has been in but in this one she has been killing it so far. Every emotion was clearly portrayed with depth. I felt it.

Here I am, watching it again for the umpteenth time. It's my favorite drama. I don't understand the strange people who claim that Eunwoo can't act. He STOLE that show. His acting was impeccable. He WAS the prince. Entirely believable.

Err. Is it okay to say Park Ki-woong looks better with the facial hair than without out?

This is the best drama ever. And seeing Eun-woo & Shin just being an adorable couple on the set together is so heartwarming. I love them. And I live for Park too. He is awesome as Jin. All three of them perfectly fit these roles amazingly. Kudos to all of them for trying their best for us. Will always love them!!

Adore this drama and everyone’s chemistry, especially the leading couple. 1:10 the way cha eunwoo looks at her as he compliments her and how shy Shin Saekyeong looks and then his laugh. So sweet!

I love the drama already! I've never been into kdramas, let alone historical ones, but this one is really fun to watch. It's got comedy (which i love) and drama so well balanced and as they said it is really well-rounded! i love it a lot!

Congratulations to both leading actress and actor Shin Se-kyung and Cha Eun-woo and all the supporting actors like Park Ki-woong and the whole cast and crew. Great work by directors Kang II-soo and Han Hyun-hee. I've watched this series twice and I'll do it again soon. Best wishes from France.

You know ,I watched Korean drama for a long time now but this drama OMG... i cried , i laughed LOL and scream..love Goo Hae-Ryung she's so natural ..i cried with her when she's w/ Prince Dowon and Cha Eun-woo he is a good drama actor ..And all the Actors and Actresses in this .Thank you so much the people behind the scene thanks too.

Such a great drama and all of the actors did a great job. I initially started watching because of Cha Eun-woo and am now officially a fan of Shin Sae-kyeong and Park Ki-woong as well. What a great cast!

My suggestion to The Swoon - have the episode scenes & the subtitle of what the actors are reacting/saying in different fonts & colours. Like Ep subtitle in white on top, actors reaction in yellow on bottom or as part of cc.

The three were very good in their roles. I specially enjoyed Ms. Shin Se Kyung’s performance in this drama. She also gave a good impression on her acting since the drama Bride of the Water God. Look forward to your next project.

Eunwoo wasn’t satisfied with his acting but i think he portrayed a 20 year old prince well ✨✨✨ it was cute

One of the best period kdrama I’ve seen! Everything about it was so entertaining and emotional. The acting from the lead actors to the secondary actors was top notch. I especially enjoyed the chemistry between Cha Eun Woo and Shin Sae kyeoung. So much talent I can see why kdramas are so popular around the world.

Been watching "Rookie Historian" and enjoying it very much. I am captivated by the interesting characters, intriguing plot, intricate period costumes, beautiful production sets, and, of course, the gorgeous performers. Shin Se-Kyung is the right choice of actor to play Goo Hae Ryung. She exhibits grace, charm, and beauty. Shin Se-Kyung is able to portray her character as a proud, principled noblewoman who combats blatant injustices and chauvinism. Those are traits to be much admired. Her character is one for which real-life individuals need to be in today's society. Goo Hae Ryung is not invincible. She is vulnerable to isolation and loneliness. She feels suffocated. Just made it through the scene where Goo Hae Ryung (Shin Se-Kyung) sobs immensely while in Prince Dowon's residence. Prince Dowon can relate to that loneliness. Quite an emotional scene. Demonstrates Shin Se-Kyung's adeptness and versatility in portraying complex characters. Only recently discovered this actor when she starred in "High Kick 2."

I am constantly amazed at these wonderful female characters coming out of Korean television. Shin Se Kyung was truly amazing in The Bride of Habaek and with Rookie Historian, she shows excellent comedic timing. Kim Tae-ri, from Mr. Sunshine was also such a strong woman -- these are women we can aspire to be. Honorable, Empathetic and fearless, such inspirational characters.

Aww.. I love this masterpiece.. I'm in love with the Crown Prince ...Shin acting skills is no joke.. I'm really looking forward to Prince Eunwoo character (there's so much more to come) But for now he's perfect to portray these bright, innocent sides.. Love you all so much♥️

I was really impressed by Eun Woo’s acting in this drama, he was able to deliver every emotion effortlessly but also his comic timing was on point which is not always easy. I’m so looking forward to seeing more of his work in the coming years. The other actors were also great and all had strong chemistry together. And we all know Eun Woo is basically the hottest guy on earth, that’s undeniable 🔥🔥🔥But can I also just mention how hot Park Ki Woong looked with a beard?! 😍

I don’t like period dramas but I watched this on a whim and was thoroughly entertained. It had heavy and light moments, cute and scary moments, funny and sad... it was really well balanced.

interesting to learn more details to some scenes with the actors doing the reaction. i hope they can do this regularly as the drama progresses. i like the balance of humour and serious parts. all actors are doing so well, the story pacing is just right, the scenes n pastel costumes are so beautiful n pleasing to the eyes
