Castle y Blaidd or Wolf's Castle is a defense from the Norman period in the parish of Llanbadarn Fynydd , central Powys .
It is believed that the castle was built in the 12th century, but there is no historical record to support that. It lies in the hills near a strategic gap: to have Norman castles so high up is very rare and the possibility that it is a Welsh construction cannot be completely ruled out, even though the style is Norman. Lying in the medieval area between Wye and Severn .
There is a horseshoe-shaped earthen defense with an entrance in the north-west corner. There are no traces of construction within the defence. It is possible that the defense was destroyed quite early in its history.
There are remains of medieval houses and fields nearby.
The Glyndŵr Path crosses the hills beside the site.
