the part that i don't get is that the IAAF only wants this ruling to apply for women ONLY in events ONLY from 400m to 1500m running. if the testosterone thing really is this big issue that they claim, how can they argue that it is only an issue in selected events...? no other distances and no field events whatsoever !!! come on, that just doesn't pass the smell test. surely if it was a matter of principle for the IAAF, they would want the ruling to apply across the board. the narrow focus of the IAAF's case seems to suggest that it is NOT a matter of principle, but rather that they are gunning for specific individuals. it is a peculiar case, but i don't buy the IAAF's stance that the testosterone is an issue for event "X" but not for event "Y", that makes no sense at all.

I have realised in this comment section no one cares how this individual feels. Whether this person is a "he", "she" or "they", no one understands the strength, effort and time this individual has put in for many years. This has been a long debate, but no one cares about Caster being affected by this. No one has the right to say such things and make it seem okay. This individual is a human being, nonetheless and feels defeated because of a genetic "flaw". This individual has ran their last race and South Africa is proud. This person has xy chromosomes and no ovaries or uterus. This is a man who did not fully developed exterior male parts.

I understand that she has XY chromosomes and undescended or internal testes which produce the male level of testosterone as well as an adam's apple; she has no ovaries and no uterus, does she have a vagina?. It is a fact that a small percentage of humans are born with anomalies, micropenises and both Male and Female organs. In this case I think we should be asking if she is actually a male with poorly developed reproductive organs, as it appears, and not a woman with a high level of testosterone. People have different levels of chemistry naturally in their bodies and unless they are introducing it through artificial means we should accept that. Presenting the high level of testosterone as the problem is obfuscating the actual problem, is she a man or a woman. Unfortunately the introduction of the transexual question in women's competition is also destroying 40 years of effort to give women and girls a fair playing field and throwing a spanner into the regulation of world sports. I sympathize with all who have to deal with the situation but I have to come down on the side of women who should be able to compete fairly with other women.

Why are people willing to see women's sports destroyed? Who speaks for female athletes who have to compete against Semenya?

Three women who ran faster than her, Jarmila Kratochvílová, Nadezhda Olizarenko and Pamela Jelimo, she is not a rerecord holder. The time which men are running is too fast about 1:40.91 by David Rudisha the men record holder and about 1:53.28 by Jarmila Kratochvílová the women record holder. Caster is 1:54.25 is third fastest women below the women world record.The time which men are running is between 1:42.81 to 1:43.00 too fast than that of the women record holder which indicates that no women can ever compete with men. We conclude that the IAAF is jealous of her they just want to remove her for nothing. If there was a women who ran 1:53.28 which is Jarmila Kratochvílová in the past this means there can still be a women who can run this time even faster than that so the IAAF must stop limiting women into their sport.

She a natural female, she was born with and biologic advantage just like some men have over others because she like them are what's known as exceptional. These events at those levels of competition are some of the only places you will find such examples of humans. She is the best of her sex in her event, test Serena, she has the same traits. It's gonna take another exceptional natural born female to rightfully dethrone her. Maybe that female won't have as high of tes level maybe she will have longer legs and better stamina to run harder for a longer period.

Kratochvilova's 1983 record is most likely not credible, but that era did not have the process to properly screen athletes. Appearance draws attention, but 'feminine' women also can dope, or be intersex. All women should be screened, so that objectivity and fairness are realized. Also, trans & intersex categories should exist.

Castor Semanya was tested and results show she has XY chromosomes which means she is biologically a man, not a woman with high levels of testosterone. Therefore she isn't a fast woman she is actually an average man.

Kratochvílová was faster and shared a similar build. I wonder what her testosterone levels were? I would think the worlds greatest speed and strength athletes would have atypical hormone levels. Particularly in the case of hormones like testosterone . In any case both Castor and this women would lose a high school level race against boys. I think Castor should be allowed to compete as a women. Of course both of their competition would disagree.

Caster has no womb or ovaries. Changing his testosterone levels will not render him sterile. Caster is a male with male muscles and strength. Intersex needs to be a third category of competition in sports. It will be a very, very small group. Perhaps they could join the special olympics.

Okay firstly she is a woman. She has a uterus and not testes. Lets be clear. God gives some women longer legs, some prettier face, some buns of steals. He gave Caster some extra testosterone. That does not change her sex. And even if the testosterone makes her run faster or have better endurance... Why can't she take advantage of her God given abilities? I stand with Caster 100%.

Their slow, when you cant win you lash out. Everyone that's a little faster always get ridiculed or accused of doping. Face it, a lot of people have had the same problem for year's but if she was blonde with blue eyes there wouldn't be a problem. If I was slow, I would shut up and train harder. The russians and east germans (and some of the americans) made a total mockery of women's athletics back in the '80s and it's arguable that their world records may be completely meaningless. With the rise of high testosterone and trans women, competitive sport for women is now entering new realms of fantasy.

Then makes no effort at all to highlight whatever female qualities 'she' has, the arrogance is staggering. The general populace know in their gut it is totally unacceptable to have this human compete as a female athlete with this albeit natural but totally unfair advantage. Then 'she' identifies as 'Lesbian' since 'she' has a wife, then used 'her' now famous profile, and national fanbase sentiments to batter genuinely valid opposition. But where is 'her' sensible argument backed up by research findings in support of her case? The mere fact that there is a cause for concern means that she absolutely or he or whatever it is has an unfair Advantage because of its chromosomal makeup DNA starts in utero pasta has more male DNA than female they are just she's something other than a woman and should not be able to compete against normal Natural Women now I'm not saying that she doesn't have the right to compete but she can compete against a man or she can compete against people just like her but to put her up against normal women is an unfair advantage and who would want to run with that I'm not saying that she needs to have her hormones adjust it or if it is ashy I'm still not clear on what it really is when you're born with two sets of genitalia which one is ruling over the other is unclear and just because you may have something between your legs that looks woman the rest of her it it's clearly leaning towards the male side and and who's to say the next person with her condition doesn't have extra estrogen or all of the hormones lean toward the female side this still does not these people are just not normal okay this is not the Special Olympics this is the regular Olympics and this woman is or this whatever it is it's it's not normal or there would not be cause for concern and again if I was a female athlete I would not want to compete with her it whatever it is. Before I get into this topic I want to say that Caster Semenya has been a strong, brave person who would go to lengths most people would not go for to fight for their cause. That being said two crucial points have been missed on both sides of the debate. First off I hear this debate about Caster Semenya being a man or woman, the answer is she isn't either, at least based on her 800m time. Her personal bests are not breaking world records it's still safe to say that Semenya is getting an unfair advantage based on her testosterone levels, However, she is not performing on the levels of men, even some collegiate level male athletes are performing much better than Semenya (note: I am not saying Semenya can't identify as a woman, I'm saying that her TRUE sex is undetermined) People have pointed out the fact that Semenya's banning will be unfair to her, but blatantly miss the fact that she is taking away from the women who dedicate their whole life to an event only for it to be stolen by someone who has CLEAR advantages over them. There is no way to be fair to both Semenya and the women who are competing against her. In my mind, if we are to make one of the two groups unfair, it would have to be Semenya as she is the minority over a vast majority of clear female athletes. Although I don't believe Semenya should compete she will still be an inspiration to everyone and a role model to look up to, she has done what most people wouldn't have done and I hope that she remains an inspiration for the generations to come and wish her the best of luck for the years to come. my question is if i were born with one eye (left)and I'm a sharp shooter and I hitting every target head on in a competition, you're telling me you would find it impossible because of my one eye. so you would run test on me or ask me to put in a right eye to satisfy the judges and the other competitors, and lets just say i put in the right eye to satisfy you and still hitting my target head on what now? you would find a problem with my left eye ?????? the woman was born that way what you all want her to do? why they aint ask Michael Phelps to cut off his long arms and size 14 feet. stupeeeeesssss
