After hearing reports of Atlantic bonito blitzes close to shore on Martha's Vineyard, Chris Megan and Jimmy Fee grab their spinning rods for some light-tackle run-and-gun fishing. When the wind picks up and the bait scatters, Chris readies the OTW Regulator to head to the bonito trolling hotspot, The Hooter.

For someone who fishes the pacific, I gotta say that Atlantic bonito look very very similar to Pacific bonito. If you were to put them side by side, it might be hard to tell the difference between the two!

Was on the vineyard early August, hadn’t thought to look for bonito, but all of a sudden while sitting on state beach they start blowing up off a sandbar. Waded our real deep but couldn’t hook up. Needless to say it was a couple days of the most exciting fishing I’ve done that didn’t end with catching anything. Lol

Usually begins in late July/Early August and lasts through October.
