You couldn't have done it on your own. Be swift to confess any remaining sin you hold on to to someone in a community of God's people that you trust and turn away from it! Satan is roaming like a lion looking to devour us, and he is craftier and smarter than we are. You know where to go. Goto Jesus anytime you feel temptations. Also goto a trust Christian friend. This battle we are in is worth a relationship with Jesus. IF you are saved, Jesus has paid for your sin through his death and resurrection. He is ALIVE. Get it deep in your bones that you are forgiven for all past, present, and future sins. Love you, brother!

I hope things are going better now. I was as you have described your son, and became the prodigal son. He brought me back to Him with His amazing grace. If you "feel so distant from God", here are the first things to consider: Have you truly repented of the sins (the "old ways") and asked Jesus to wash those sins away with the blood of His cross? If you are holding onto your sins you cannot be in fellowship with our Lord Jesus Christ. I urge you to GET RID of everything and everyone that tempts you back into the "old ways". If you are saved, you have the Holy Spirit living within you. You have the power to resist the "old ways". There is no excuse for going back to them; disobedience separates us from fellowship with God even if we are saved. Are you seeking God in His Word and in prayer? How can you know His will for you, or draw in His strength, if you don't listen to Him and talk to Him? Are you in a real church? Tonight at youth group we were in our small groups and the leader asked us to close our eyes and she asked us to raise our hand if we still had that dought that God's love could wipe our sin and be our salvation. I believe I was the only one to raise my hand and it scared me that I could still dought even after knowing my Savior and life for so long but she prayed over me and all of my group and that's when throughout the evening the chains that kept my pride in the way from surrendering to him broke. Great lyrics. So clever that they crafted a song about redemption through Jesus without having to put his name in the song. I also like the 'take up your new name' which is a great reference to how biblical figures had their names changed.

Dear brothers and sisters, this is a wonderful and uplifting song! If you share this with an unbeliever, I think it is important to be honest and give the whole gospel of Jesus. It is NOT your best life up ahead now, but it IS your eternal life up ahead now, which could be someone's best life, and it could be an earthly life of suffering. Let us tell unbelievers the truth that being born again is from above and come by God's grace when we repent and believe.
