Back chasing dusky flathead on the flats, but this time I've added a diving lure into my arsenal, using this Daiwa double clutch 95! This lure worked well at the start of the session, catching a nice dusky flathead on one of the first casts, but I realised that it may have been diving a little bit too deep for my liking (constantly digging into the sand). Moving forwards I will use this lure only in water over a metre deep and will try out some shallower diving lures next time the flathead are biting! Hope you enjoyed this flats fishing mission, plenty more to come so stick around for that!

Although we're heading into some colder weather now, if you know where to look you can still find some big dusky flathead hiding away up rivers in super skinny water! But with that said, I am still anticipating Spring time once again with great excitement for when these huge estuary beasts became abundant again on the ultra shallow sand flats
