Это гениально!!! Если тебе потребуется новая шестерня вместо сломаной, нужно взять ЦЕЛУЮ шестерню, возиться с ней несколько дней отливая и шлифуя, что- бы потом понять, что у тебя уже есть целая шестерня!
Sprocket runs chains. Here its not running chain but another gear. So its not wrong to refer to it as gear. Typical shape of gear is different in cars or other vehicles depending on load and other performance characteristics. Straight cut gears have very high noise, which is why gears like this is not seen inside vehicle gearboxes.
The spoon may be mere stainless steel so it would take a bit of time for it to succumb to the heat to melt rather the couple moments it’s there for scooping before anything happens.
Next time you cast. Use a full 2-piece set. It's not good to pour it in while open. You could make unintentional layers in the gear, thus might not be structurely Sound as a solid object. Use a lid, please, please.
Did you re-drill the hole?? Cause when the water droplet hit and the rod was tapped out, the center hole wasn’t a full circle. Cool project tho, cool to see the process
No. It can’t. It will always be a little smaller than the original. Plus, in loose pattern casting like this, you are only getting one side of the part. If you put a chain in the new sprocket it will get thrown off all the time.
While I appreciate internet smart ass answers as much as anyone. I'd highly recommend the "Big Stack D" channel. You'll need a furnace, a burner, a crucible, mold(s), flux, gloves, and a bunch of scrap. You can buy "metal casting kit" furnaces, build your own, etc. It's a LOT of fun, can be kind of a headache. And...I should probably get a propane refill and start mine back up. That'll give you enough keywords. There are BUCKETS of videos on DIYing this stuff.
Also: Don't worry about complex/interesting sand molds first. That's a whole different art form. I'm still at the "melting soda cans or scrap brass pipe fittings into little ingots using a cupcake pan (which is ruined for baking)" stage and it's a lot of fun.
вы че прикалываетесь? это шестерня работает в паре с цепью, она не спроектирована для зубчатого соединения. так де надо оставлять припуски на обработку для токарки, иначе центральное отверстие будет не точным и цестеренка будет бить
Поэтому китайское всё одноразовое. Никакой закалки , никакой технологии. Как то купил рожковые ключи , при первой же попытке отвернуть болт губки разошлись , купил потом на барахолке у пенсионера , сделано в СССР со знаком качества - до сих пор живые и ещё 100 лет прослужат. У них всё сыромятина, на великах шарики подшипника в элипс превращаются. А вы тут лайки им ставите. И покупаете китайское барахло. Кустарщики.
