I am knitting on my retreat shawl in a gifted yarn (I got a whole parcel this week, one of those "oh, you knit? can I send you some yarn that I don't need anymore?" kind of things). I decided I'm done knitting and sewing summer clothes and accessoires, I am in autumn mode (I'm in Germany, summer is fizzling out), so I bookmarked the colourwork jumper you're knitting. I organized most of my yarns these last days and thinking and planning while I'm knitting on this shawl and watching knitting podcasts.
Gifted yarn! How fun! Sounds like you are fully transitioning to fall knitting. I’m getting there, but not quite. Another week or two and I will be fully fall focused.
Enjoyed your podcast🙂. Today while watching, I am crocheting a chenille floppy bunny for my first grandchild 😁. I recently have been teaching myself, with the help of RU-vid, how to crocheting and am really enjoying the process. My first love is knitting but I always enjoy learning new crafts. Happy knitting😁🇨🇦
Oh, congratulations! How exciting to have a new little one joining the family. I am a very beginner crocheter, but I agree- it’s always fun to learn something new.
Thanks for the lovely company Lisa 🤗 Love your new scrappy colourwork sweater 😍 I recently finished a corner-to-corner garter stitch scrappy blanket as well and also found it to be the perfect cozy, mindless make. Hope your wrist feels better soon 💕
Ooh lovely lovely yarns. Thanks for sharing Lisa. I love to watch Roxanne Richardson (Rox Rocks) on a Saturday morning with my coffee and my knitting. Trying hard not to start any new projects until the 3 current ones are completed 🤓🏴
I am knitting a hat for my dad. I am knitting it from reclaimed yarn from a sweater that he used to wear a lot but is now out of style. We are both very excited about this project. I love your podcast, it is just so happy and I like to have a perspective on knitting in Spain. I would be very interested for you to do a yarn tour like Love in Stitches regularly does. And please make a vlog from the Barcelona knitting event!
@@Lisamakes yes a yarn store tour or wherever interesting yarny things are happening like small businesses dying their own yarn, or sheep / apaca farms. I'm just interested in the whole knitting landscape in Spain and I really like the style of your videos.
This is a long overdue comment. Thank you for putting Eweknit in my attention zone. (1) I heard this as “Unit” and had the hardest time even figuring out where to look originally. 😂 (2) I’m in Toronto, so I had the opportunity to visit in person, and it’s a lovely store.
Oh yes, excellent distinction between dream knitting and knitting plans. I like that. My dream knit list is miles long, but I have found that if I don’t cast it on soon, it’s often just not likely to happen. I LUV the Sailor Swift tank…. So utterly cute and Knitting for Olive pure silk is my ultimate summer favorite. I am desperately trying to finish my Kuutar top before summer ends in Berlin. However, on 3mm needles and no more holiday time left and the light in the evening now fading earlier…..😢. We will see. Would love to hear your knitting plans…. The sneak peak at that one dress in the magazine ❤ drool worthy.
Good luck getting you Kuutar finished up! It was on my list for this summer, but now it will have to be next. Dream knitting it is! It’s my favourite part. ❤️
Thanks Lisa. Knitting on the Traveler’s hoodie as I watch- using Estelle Eco Tweed- quite happy with it so far. Inspired by your blanket- so a dig through the scraps is in the future!
Just back from Barcelona where it was so hot! So unlike Toronto. I was working on Rheinlust by Melanie Berg while watching your podcast. Thank you for making both your sewing and your knitting videos, I enjoy them both.
Good morning Lisa, love to watch both your knitting and sewing videos. Wishing I had your ambition and speed in your makes but unfortunately, I am slow at both. I am currently knitting a Sharing Creativity cowl by Pamela Kay out of sock yarn from Polka Dot Creek (Alberta) in colour Canada Day 2020. Loving the colour and the way it is knitting but this sock yarn is very thin so the process is slow. I am almost finished. I also just finished a Getting Warmer cowl from Espacetricot out of a Mary Maxim chunky (bought at a yard sale for $1). Love that cowl and have knit it a couple of times since seeing your video on it a few years back. Take care and look forward to your next video.
Hello, it's always nice to see what you are making and wearing there in warmer place ❤️ I'm already thinking winter and knitting woolly pants for my 8yo daughter. Then i would like to finish a sweater for her too so she can use it when it gets colder.. And those are my first fingering weight garments ever although I've been knitting nearly 30 years 😊
Really! That’s amazing! You know, one of my first sweaters was fingering weight, and last year I gave it to a friend of mine. It was in a superwash merino and the sleeves kept shrinking up on me. I hope yours are more successful!
I'm not knitting, but I am doing Crochet. I've been making the Classic Crochet Vest by TCDDIY in a cotton linen blend and the Embrasser wrap top by Johanna Huck.
I’m knitting while watching! I’ve finished many things this year, which feels good, but… am in a huge bout of cast-on-itis. Today I’m working on an Alpine Bloom hat which I cast on yesterday, it’s for a gift. Over the weekend I cast on the just released Ausma Shawl, using deep stash, circa 2002-3. And since July I’ve been working on another knit lace dress from a Verena (Burda) magazine Summer 2008. Knitting in some stashed Louet Linen which I need to take breaks from, it’s hard on the hands. On Ravelry as Marji
Knitting on a Suri shirt by Caidree in off white and I am adding gold stripes. Also working on the neckband of a favorite cardigan (4th) Pop Life in ecru. Love the tank.
@@Lisamakes Or you could title your knitting content like that, while keeping the on this channel? So we can visually differentiate? Just a suggestion!
I was knitting My Little Secret Crop by Jessie Mae Martinson (Jessie Maed Designs) whilst watching you. This one is a ‘scrappy’ looking one combining three cotton yarns I bought on sale. I will definitely be making this pattern again for both me and my daughter!
As always, I loved your podcast! I'm knitting on my Poppy Tee in a navy blue cotton merino! It was definitely a "I want to start this right away"-cast on and now it's all I've been working on :) Funny how you said it's hard to talk more about your makes, I would say I have the opposite in my videos 😅
@@Lisamakes It truly is the best feeling! Sometimes I feel like planning every knit for the upcoming months is just not the way to go, just going for what feels good in the moment is though :) And awesome! Hope you like it xxxx
@@maanknitwear I think it’s fun just to plan patterns and yarn and NOT feel the pressure to follow through and knit it. The planning can be the activity in itself!
😊 I did the exact same thing with the 'Neons and Neutrals' book...looked at it, thought, nah....then watched the videos with the designers and now I have to knit them all! ( in my own colors😏). Just found you, enjoyed the video and could relate to everything! Have to be inspired in the moment. Currently knitting my way through the Sandes Garn book 2022...(the one with the Amy Slipover that I had just to have thanks to Knitting Traditions Inga) while I watch bunch of new to me knitting podcasts. Perfect day!
Love all your makes ! Can you tell me what your favorite circular knitting needles, interchangeable? I had a set of knit picks and they literally fell apart at the junction and some of them would not stay together at the junction. I definitely want a new set but don’t know what to purchase. Thank you 🙏 Are you a self-taught knitter?
Hi there! Yes, I am self-taught! Lots of RU-vid tutorials. I love the Chiaogoo needles. I use mine constantly and they have always held up well. Highly recommend!
Love your inspiration. I'm knitting on a navy fingering cardi as I watch you. The design is called Delicate by Annamarie Otvos. It's a free pattern on ravelry and is so well written.
I love all the things you knit (and sew too). They are always gorgeous. I'm jealous of the fact that you and the girls can share cclothing my mom and I used to do that. She passed away 20 years ago, and I still have some of her things that I wear. I only have a son, so usually they don't want to share clothing or twin with Mom. Especially when they are 36. 😂 Right now I'm trying to quickly finish up a test knit for Knitty McPurly called the Diggory Tee. It's a simple tee with cap sleeves, and I love it. Mine is in white because that's what I need in my wardrobe at the moment. Usually I make bright autumnal colours or colour gradients, speckles, etc. So white is out of the ordinary for me. I'm using baby yarn, so its so soft and drapey. I have about 40 WIPS that I'm dying to work on but this one has to be done in a week.
@sew_So_beautiful I understand, I used to share clothes with my mom when I was young, too. She passed away 7 years ago. ❤️ I love Devyn’s designs! She’s lovely.
I never get startitis as I hate starting new projects (once I’ve started I’m fine but casting on…). I’m knitting on a sock and like you, knit as I watch knitting (or sewing) podcasts. I also have way too many fingering leftovers and am considering a blanket. Have a great day.
I use to love tube tops. I graduated high school in the 70's. Unfortunately gravity isn't always your friend in the chest area for going braless or finding good support of strapless.bra. I love yor makes, especially the blanke! I wish I could get back into knitting. My passion right now is embroidery by hand. I work in yarn project during colder months.
I understand! This is really the first summer that I am really into knitting-usually it’s very much a fall/winter thing for me. My daughter is currently embroidering a canvas bag for her friend’s birthday. ❤️
Hi there! Those culottes are the lower half of the v9075 jumpsuit pattern by Vogue. These exact ones are a copy that I took from ones I made years ago from that Pattern, using an elastic waistband hack from Helen’s Closet.
I love all your knits! I especially love the brown with pop of colours. Its gorgeous together. Im currently watchinb you on catch up, very early morning cos I cant get back to sleep, and im knitting the Rosary Jumper from the vlogger Janelle from #rosaryapparel . A gorgeous old fashioned, patterned all over jumper, knitted in pieces. I love your vlogs and usually jump on to watch as soon as they drop. Ive been away so need to catch up. Enjoy your knitting and sewing too ❤
Ha ha castonitis!! Thankfully my wips only ever reach a max of 3 and that’s me out of control big time if I ever have 3. Loved your knits. Just a query about your Sailor Swift top, you said it was 98g but that was knitting for olive silk? If so aren’t they 250m/50g so you would need more than one fingering skein? 🤔😬 Love your friends dotted rays, what a lovely friend you are 🥰 thanks for sharing and hope your wrist gets better 😱😩Karen
You are totally right. 🤦🏻♀️ I didn’t think of the difference in meterage. Either it will be extra cropped, or I might do the icord edging in a different yarn. Hmmm. You are so good only having three WIPs. I used to be very much like that- but no more!
Love all your makes ! Can you tell me what your favorite circular knitting needles, interchangeable? I had a set of knit picks and they literally fell apart at the junction and some of them would not stay together at the junction. I definitely want a new set but don’t know what to purchase. Thank you 🙏
I have enjoyed your sewing videos for years and really like your ventures into knitting. It is always intersting to me what calls to people to cast on. I have a Knitting podcast channel Mostly Knitting. Feel free to check it out. I think you might enjoy it. Thanks for sharing. :)
How goes your Daughter's crocheting adventures 😊 And something fun to watch while knitting Fathers Little Divided ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MMLEyL6Lb0A.html. God bless
