Castlevania NES Final Boss Dracula - No Damage, No SubWeapons 

Mad props, my man. I had to look up a video for this because for years I thought it was impossible to get no damage on the second form. You earned your like tonight. :)

Dark Souls 1 is the Castlevania 1 of the Dark Souls

I first played this game back in the 1980s. I finally beat Dracula both forms for the first time ever today thanks to your video. Hell yeah!

On the second form, Dracula's Jump Height is randomized between a High Jump and a Low Jump; so you'll have to get lucky, otherwise you get mashed in a corner. However, if you noticed, Dracula will pause and will do a smirk in his face when does a High Jump. Though still the RNG battle is pretty annoying.

I just finished it! In Stage 18, Hitting Drac’s head with the whip is very difficult unless you time the jump to the split-second. I wanted to try the Holy Water on Demon Drac but I couldn’t survive that long with just the Holy Water. Plus, if you get the Holy Water you’re locked into the final battle and can’t collect anymore hearts. So I used the Holy Cross. Going down and up the stairs respawns the candles so you can collect mad hearts (I’d usually get 50 before fighting Drac) and get both weapon boosts. Just before you take on the Prince of Darkness hit the candle containing the Holy Water and let it expire. Then just start jumping and throwing the Holy Cross, all the while being on the move and keeping out of Dracula’s way and avoiding those fireballs. I found it easier to jump and throw the cross while turned away from Dracula. I stayed alive much longer that way, and the crosses will eventually wear him down since they travel in two directions. When Drac loses his head face Demon Drac directly and employ the jump-&-throw technique while avoiding the fireballs. When Demon Drac gets close to you run under him QUICKLY when he jumps. Run to the far side of the screen and continue the assault. With a little luck you’ll beat him after a few passes across the screen.

I've always wondered why Dracula is about 12 feet tall in all the games. In the old ones it didn't seem that weird, but in Order of Ecclesia it's really disconcerting because he walks around and does physical attacks.

I'm playing the collection now and just got to the boss fight. His second form caught me super off guard. I actually thought I wouldn't be able to beat him. This video gives me hope!

Hmm... Better late than never. 1) Yes, he flashes for a while but the screen recorder didn't capture that (because of a high compression setting I think). In this case the blinking either wasn't captured at all or is shown as Dracula's sprite (this is also an answer to question 2 - Dracula didn't appear at 0:28 yet).

That's insane! I did not know that the second form could be faked out like that.

Impressive! I finally made it to Dracula today, but am having a difficult time beating him.

AWESOME. I couldn't defeat him, then I used water (normal, not double or triple shot) to slow him down, I've been very close to him (to avoid him shooting fireballs), jump twice and hit his head with my whip and I tried to defeat him this way before he could put me on the edge of the stage (where you don't know if he will stuck you, short or long jump) and then I defeated him! :D This video was important because I was one-hit left to die and I could do it without getting damage thanks to your video. Good thing I've been doing this with an emulator (so I have save states), I can't imagine how horrible would have to play the three stages before this one again and then Dracula with his stupid teleports and then this monster. Especially because his jumps are kind of random sometimes. So thank you!! :D I was going to give up but your video gave me an idea to defeat him!! :D

In other games dracula should have a mist attack because in real vampire myths vampires can turn into a fog/mist

Castlevania is definitely harder than dark souls. The kids who beat dark souls on their weekend do not even know Castlevania exists. My first time ever, I beat dracula with boomerange x3. I got lucky and he jumped over me at the 2nd phase.

Be prepared for a lot of "I love Nat." if you don't opt to use the holy water in the 2nd phase of the Dracula battle.

just 2 questions. 1) arent you supposed to see him "flash" a little before he appears instead of just appearing the way he does here? 2) 0:28 shouldnt you have gotten hit? its been a long time so correct me if im wrong, i just remember dying a lot to him appearing on me of course im not putting this video down at all. im sure this was a extremely hard task and congrats to you. I used to nearly die even with cross and the triple shot. I'm just asking because that's how i remembered it. still 5/5

Funny how the Castlevania franchise went from this to being a committed storyline, and then a Netflix anime, it's come pretty far.

That’s pretty amazing tbh. I beat Dracula with sub weapons on the PS4 version, which is probably the easiest version. I couldn’t imagine trying to beat this game on an NES.

i swear we have different versions. my dracula teleports in miliseconds right into me in a random way. and the coloration is different. i've been trying your challenge(excerpt for the part that i use boomerang) for the whole day,but no result. i've beat this game,like,8 times,but i can't figure out whats wrong

Something is not right here...why didn't Dracula spawn on top of you? He spawns where you are standing and only did it once or twice in this video. I don't know, something does not feel right. At any rate thank you for showing me Dracula's attack pattern and versions. I have not played in years and I am about to fight him on the Classic Collection. I beat Castlevania IV last night and I'm beating the first one tonight. I will play and probably finish the second tomorrow night and beat the third and Bloodlines on Sunday. I doubt I will play the Game Boy games...they just look awful.
