That moment where Jon realizes that he can get past the skeleton down below with the Holy Water and gets excited over figuring it out is exactly why this game should be one of the cornerstones of proper level design. Moments like that are priceless.

This is my favourite episode of Game Grumps in ages! The bread talk was hilarious and it was genuinely heartening to watch Jon get progressively better at the game. Great balance between knowledge of the game, PLAYING the game and a side order of bullshit talk makes for a happy Grumpling.

Completely depends on how humid your area/house is. I live in Sweden and me and my family have always been able to finish off packages of bread before they start to mold (unless nobody ate any bread for weeks which is rare) and we've never kept them in a fridge. We stored them in an open top box and sealed them in their own packages with the clips that followed with them or clips we had saved. I can't think of anyone I know who've been keeping bread in the fridge.

I actually don't find that hallway very difficult, Death on the other hand... oh boy. What you have to do is get to that hallway and Death with the holy water you get at the start of the stage. Makes both the Knights and Death easy as hell!

The whole terrible night to have a curse is in the English version only. In Japanese, it's "Darkness falls over the world." Or something like that.

That building giving you the middle finger was Dracula's Keep. If you look at the map when you beat the level, you can see the keep is positions directly above you. This is an absolutely awesome bit of foreshadowing/world building that even a lot of games today overlook. The problem is it's beyond it's time, without seperate scrolling background layers, it make it look rather small and flat versus an off in the distance giant building.

it also technically depends on the humidity of where you live. where i live in California, its just right that you can store bread in your freezer, thaw it out weeks to a month later, and it's perfectly normal bread. aside from that, if you don't want to wait for it to thaw out and soften, then dry up so its not soggy bread, you can put it in a toaster.

I just looked this up (not that I thought anyone was lying or saying stuff, I just found it interesting) and legit it's true. I never knew this, it's like an old wives tale to leave the bread in the fridge to keep it for longer, had no idea that it also made it staler quicker. Thank you (and a couple others) for being so informative! Although I'll still keep it in the freezer, unless I get myself a bread box in the future.

Besides cooling the bread makes it stale faster. Because of foresaid crystallisation of the staches and sugars in the bread. While a loaf might get dry outside a fridge keeping the bread in a sealed bag keeps it fresh longer. However it has added risk of mould.

Okay, I have to say, idk if this is purely them or going by fan request, but this is one of the best series in awhile XD Their talk on Castlevania is awesome and I feel that this has been an engaging series. Just don't get frustrated Jon. First time I played this game, where this episode ended is where I started having trouble XD Great episode and...I like cold bread. Just...warm it up after XD

I don't know about bread in the fridge, but I put bread in the freezer when we buy it in bulk to keep it fresher, longer. We just take out a loaf from the freezer when we need it

Actually, Nintendo Power did release a guide for Castlevania, I believe. It was part of a massive walkthrough guide that they released. It had Super Mario Bros 1-3, Castlevanias 1-3, Ducktales, Adventure Quest or something like that, and a couple others in it and it gave you the locations of everything. I still have parts of the copy laying around.

Symphony of the Night was by far my favorite Castlevania. I think I've pretty much memorized most of that game, including the (somewhat cheesy, but awesome) quotes. Though the original is definitely a very rewarding experience every time you squeak out a victory (Awesome way to end by the way, nice save :D )

fun fact! (or so i believe) freezing and unfreezing bread will make it moist. and more susceptible to mold. so your bread goes moldy faster. the same principle might be applied to refrigerated bread but i am not sure.

When putting bread in the fridge the temperature cause the moisture in the bread to crystallize, causing it to kinda stale over, people generally don't prefer this in addition to it being cold.

My family always froze bread and then pulled it out to thaw when the current loaf is almost gone/stale. Best of both worlds.

Refrigerating bread makes it edible longer, but also makes it stale faster. Freezing it halts the process that makes it stale, but you have to make sure its wrapped thoroughly or when you defrost it it will go soggy.

Actually bread goes stale because the starch molecules are crystalizing. Putting it in a cold place makes that happen faster.

Where I live, most of the year bread molds faster out of the fridge than it stales in the fridge. So climate is probably more important than anything when deciding where to keep it.

Really, there are two chief factors: 1) presence of mold spores in the bag from the factory. 2) Relative humidity.

Actually, the moisture in the refrigerator assists in making the bread go bad more quickly thanks to crystallization. It keeps longer to be kept in a dry, dark place. Well,if you like sort of hard bread, than I suppose it does keep longer but... *slinks back into shadows*

actually putting bread in the fridge makes it last shorter since bread going stale is caused by crystallisation of the starch molecules in bread causing it to go hard which is accelerated in cooled conditions

Actually, freezing bread doesn't keep it good longer, as the moisture causes the starch to Crystallize, which is what many people thought freezing or cooling it would prevent.
