A release by Mondo. This 2xLP gatefold release features the soundtrack to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. It mainly features the PlayStation soundtrack, but also includes some Sega Saturn tracks on side D. There were 3 variants released, with the limited edition variant being on a black, gold, and bone white tri-split. The other 2 variants were on a bone and silver swirl with a white splatter, as well as translucent red vinyl
Other than an obi strip, no other inserts or extras were included with this release

I am beyond pissed that I missed the release, I only found out that any game soundtracks were even put on vinyl through your channel a couple of months ago, I was then super hyped of the thought of getting this game IF and when they did it... So I came to check randomly if there was any news on them making them, only to find I had already missed the release by 10 days! I wanted the bone one but now they're all stupidly priced on ebay :( Sucks that I'd have to pay more to get them to the UK aswell. They need to expand and release them in other countries, I just can't justify the cost :( Sound is unreal quality here as usual I hear!

There still ins tock at mondoptees.com but only in black. I was beyond pissed i missed rando of blood but they retocked the red and blue vinly yeterday and managed to get 2 copies,they are still available too.

@@MorbidThrasher666 Yeah, thanks for letting me know, but I really can't justify the cost of getting it to the UK :( and I was hoping to get any limited ones they were offering, that's the main reason I was pissed when I realised I missed it by such a short time gap.

You can actually hear the surface noise level difference between each color on the split. Only read about it, but never listened to it for myself. Fortunately only noticeable in the silent grooves.

He’s not wrong you know. I have other rips on my channel where you can clearly hear the difference in surface noise between different colors. You just got to listen and pay attention

All black isn’t an option that I’m aware of. In my description I list all the variants for the release. Translucent red would probably be what you’re looking for in terms of potential for best quality, but differences between the 3 variants are probably negligible at best. It’s a good pressing

Wow!!! A Tri colored Vinyl disc. I’ve never seen a vinyl disc like that. Well; I guess it goes well with the front cover art of both Japanese versions of this game Dracula X Nocturne in the Moonlight (Sega Saturn/Sony PlayStation).

I am so glad I didnt get this limited tri colored vinyl or the bone.. The noise floor is stupid on the colored vinyl.. you literally can hear it on this rip, in every quiet section or for example from 12 seconds to 20 seconds, each time the stylus goes from gold to white to black, it goes from Noisy, Less Noisy, almost Silent.. Just goes to show why you never should get colored vinyl, regardless if they market it as limited or if it looks nice... color additives have negative emi properties, possibly from use of metallic bases in the inks or whatever, but Black is as you can tell from this vinyl is the way to go (lesser noise floor).

just ordered this! ya, i got a rivers of nihil split disc the other week, put the needle down to hear that awful surface noise when switching between the colors. was pretty bummed, but you can't hear it once the music starts thankfully. gonna order just black from now on if it's an option lol (what i did with this release) subbed btw, awesome channel!

I better make time to compare the sound quality between the vinyl and the CD. It's the first soundtrack that I have both, and I'm curious if there's a difference, or it's all just superficial or based on equipment. Although it might be pointless since this release is sourced from the CD or FLACs (and rips from the Saturn version).

The standard release of the CD doesn't have the Saturn bonus tracks or Master Liberian, so that's already a good reason to own both.

How many Collection Boxes have Konami made? There's Silent Hill and Gradius, that much I know. Didn't know that a Castlevania set was already done. I can only hope there's already a Contra set out there. Also, I'm aware about your first post, that's why I said "rips from the Saturn version". I actually hadn't known about Master Librarian not being in the initial Japanese CD release, so hearing that on vinyl is an unexpected reminder.

The Mystical Ninja/Goemon series has a pretty large comprehensive box set. I don't personally know of any others aside from the ones you listed. Since the Saturn tracks are on the SotN box set disc, I'm sure they just used that as a source, not a direct rip from the hardware.

The pattern specifically is a noted problem for this specific version of the release. If I’m not mistaken, gold pigment is known to be a bit noisier than most

@@vgmvinyl I’m about to pull the trigger on a bone variant on eBay, but now I’m worried it may sound inferior… But I assume it’ll still sound better than the album on my iPhone? I’m so new to records haha.

Records are an imperfect format in general. You are never going to get perfect sound because noise and other things, so it’s something to keep in mind. Having said that I don’t really know if I heard any which way about the bone variant. It was always this one in particular that had the issues I started to care a little bit too much about the sound quality of my records at some point and it was discouraging me from enjoying my collection. I’m just happy to own these albums on vinyl in the first place, so I’ve tried not to be so picky, but I do understand wanting to buy something that you aren’t going to regret, so it really all comes down to if you’re willing to take the risk to buy
