The soundtrack for Symphony of the Night is interesting in that it's a combination of high quality synths and real instruments, so this song actually employs live bass.

Vibing in Dracula's upside down bullshit ass castle. The night of blood and monsters may be sickening, but this beat is even sicker.

SoTN truly is one of the GOATs. Gameplay holds up perfectly, the story is high class camp, and the soundtrack is wall to wall banger. I cannot stress how much you owe it to yourself to give it a shot.

One of my favorite parts of Castlevania soundtracks is the fact that they explore so many genres, sometimes even in one song. It's really enjoyable stuff, and i am so glad you loved this one so much.

Even for Castlevania, Symphony of the Night's OST is very experimental. Though that could be in-part due to Symphony being a departure in a lot of ways from previous games.

There is a pianist named Purpleschala that bangs this song so hard out on piano. The arrangement is incredible powerful and I'd argue the song is just as good on piano as is the original.

God I love SotN so much I play it practically every Halloween and the music has got to be one of the highlights, it's always got a gothic vibe to it but it also has a lot of personality beyond that.

I remedied a huge hole in my gaming taste last week by finishing SotN for the first time (after having started it years ago and just never completed it), and my reaction to first hearing this song was much like yours right now! I had to stop playing for an hour just listening to this and this was all I listened to for the next day. Such a fantastic song

First of all, check out Symphony of the Night. It's fantastic. Great A+ game and a foundational "Metroidvania" title. Second, this whole soundtrack is stellar, full of great bops. This one is a standout, but if I had to recommend another track besides "Dracula's Castle," which is an absolute BANGER, it'd be "Wood Carving Partitia."

Absolutely love this track! Not often that a harpsichord is used in music anymore but man does that tin-like sound every resonate with me!

SOTN had probably one of the most varied soundtrack of its era. So many different musical genres mixed into one. Michiru Yamane's magnum opus... and only the first of many awesome soundtracks for the series.

Hahaha, I totally get it man! When I first heard this song in game, it was one of those moments where I just put down the controller and listened to the music for like half an hour. I definitely stop to listen to it a few loops every time it starts playing lol. This song is pretty underrated in the series, but it's definitely my favorite song from Castlevania

Great game with a great ost. These later PS1 games that started to mix real instruments in with synth really changed vgm and now have such a nostalgic sound that games dont really use these days

I probably should have checked before saying this but if you've never played this game you definitely should. The whole soundtrack is one of my all time favorites in all of gaming and SOTN is a classic. One of the best of all time.

I hated this song on my first playthrough of SotN many decades ago but now it's my favorite on the soundtrack by far. Michiru Yamane is still making great music now but she's kinda settled into a style that sadly doesn't seem to include some of the weird experimental stuff from her early days.

hey jesse loved the video, never knew the castlevania games had a soundtrack like this! wanted to recommend some songs, all from the game Risk of Rain 2: The Rain Formerly Known as Purple Köppen As Fuck You're Gonna Need A Bigger Ukelele ...con lentitud poderosa the last one in particular draws a lot from "Coalescence," the track that plays on the final stage of the first Risk of Rain game, so it may be beneficial to the experience to listen to that one beforehand both games' soundtracks are incredible so maybe at some point you'd get to more of them, but these ones are good starters! cheers!

Playing SotN as an intro to Castlevania as a series? Definitely worth it. Gameplay was near perfect. Soundtrack was that, and more. So much more. It's one of those games that I go back to every once in a while, just for the experience. Not one I'm sure I'd want a remake of, but wouldn't mind seeing, but with just 'more'. Expand the castle. Toss in more enemies. Boss rushes. More endings. Tech we got now is so much more...

This game is a musical *experience.* On top of it one of the best castlevanias ever made, probably still the most stylish of them all. A must play from the PS1 era no doubt.

Kinda reminds me of 80s Latin pop/disco... Although it kept making me think of two songs in particular... La Isla Bonita (I think Madonna was the artist) was one and the other song it reminded me of is the second ending song from Kimagure Orange Road... I forget the name of the song, although it involves the word heart ^_^;; One of the anime I felt I had to watch after hearing some of the soundtrack >__>; I guess this genre would be Latin fusion or something? Either way, very cool... I hadn't heard this one yet myself, but I don't think Castlevania has disappointed me much in regards to music... Usually a good time.

If you're listening to Symphony of the Night soundtracks, I'd definitely recommend Dance of Gold. It's a very good piece. But Michiru Yamane uses a lot of different styles for the soundtrack, and she is quite good at it.

Can someone help me, please? I've had a remix of this track on my computer since the turn of the century at least - it's more of a pure flamenco with acoustic guitars and it's not a loop, but it has a proper beginning, middle and end, but it's just an old midi file and for the life of me, I can't find if there's an original version of it with proper sound. Does somebody know what it might be? Thanks!

This sounds like a much groovier Gerudo theme from Ocarina of Time - which is not at all bad! :)

If you're willing to go through more tracks in the franchise, I recommend "Lament of Innocence ~Leon's Theme~" and "Forest of Jigramunt", they're top tier.
