Absolutely mesmerising to watch you build these. Your talent and dedication is a godsend on earth to us. Each of your lessons I see I keep thinking no I think this is my favourite. Thank you so much for sharing and teaching.
Hey David! I retired from 54 1/2 yrs of nursing in November. I almost immediately got covid and have recovered. I want to paint roses. I've learned so much from you. Also I've learned how important a good background can make. I will buy Heritage paints as soon as I can afford them. Thank you so much for your excellent instructions!
Thank you so much Patricia😀. My wife Martha is a oncology and special pathogens nurse. She is currently working at Hershey Medical Center in the COVID unit. So happy you recovered and are safe. Take care. Thank you so much 😀
Too good. I am totally mesmerised by how a simple yellow circle was transformed into a beautiful rose. Thanks a lot. I always wanted to paint a rose . Your step by step instructions are really helpful. Thanks 🙏
Well blow me down! I have never been able to find the captions, but pressed every icon in sight, and finally found them! Thank you. Makes a big difference.
I have never watched a flower of any sort be painted. I wanted to see a grisaille. You are a very good teacher. I thank you for my first rose. I will never look at a rose the same way. I don’t plant flowers. I raise goats and cows.
Thanks again, David. I tried this today, and was quite pleased with the results. Of course, every lesson is a step closer to getting that level of perfection.
Awestruck by this painting. There's movement in your hands, paint and voice. Aspiring artist should take a leaf out of your book sir Respect from South Africa
Absolutely stunning Mr Jansen....I feel I could pluck that rose right off the screen 🤩....beautiful life like Rose. I really wish I could get hold of the heritage acrylics here in the UK. But thank you for sharing your gift of painting 🌹 Hope you and your family are keeping well with all this virus illness 🙏🏼 🌸🌷
How easy/hard do you think it would be to do this same painting but with a light blue rose instead of the yellow? I still am going to paint the yellow rose to get the techniques down, but blue is my absolute favorite color. Maybe if it isn't asking too much for you to paint a simple single blue rose with the idea of a stem in this style? Have really been enjoying your videos! Thank you so much for taking the time to make them!
Blue is my favorite color, but I have a hard time "seeing" blue roses. Just doesn't seem natural to me. I have painted them in folk art styles but never formal styles. I just it is time to try again. I will try to do something. Thanks!
Thank you as always you never disappoint. I was scared to watch this one above my pay grade. I find that with my vision loss I see the dark backgrounds much better. I live this you gave me confidence enough to watch it. Gave me confidence enough to even try to paint. As I said before my daughter and my granddaughter I think I do quite well considering I am blind in both eyes. My problem is the 3/4 inch fresh. I do not see the whole brush unfortunately as it is detail vision I have no peripheral so I don't see the whole brush so I don't know where it's going unfortunately but I do like to use it and I just might give her a whirl. God bless you thank you so much can't get enough of watching the video so I must say that. And yes I do go to your channel and watch them over there.
Hello the master of roses, It's almost the style of Jan Frans van Dael. Can we hope that one day you made us a picture of this kind. Thank you so much.
@@JansenArtEducation :I would love to learn this style. Your videos sound great. With a lot of practice I think that one day I will succeed. Thank you so much. Never stop teaching us this beautiful way to reproduce the most beautiful thing in the world: flowers and roses. If you have a video that explains this style, please let me know. You are as always the best. Have a good day.
I've just discovered your wonderful video and admired your yellow roses, congratulations! Now,since I've discovered the use of good quality tempera gouache,I was wondering if I could use that technique instead of acrylics...Thanks a lot!
@David Jansen Thank you very much! Haha, and people say that there`s no such thing as MAGIC...LOL... From now on I`ll just show them your videos! Easter, lockdown greetings from Slovenia :)
Trying to learn from you. Can't afford a lesson so I keep watching you over and over, Could you do a purple rose for me please. I'm doing a special project for a friend who lost her granddaughter. Thank you in advance.
Just found you in 2020 during crazy draconian times. Thank you, thank you for sharing your amazing talent with us. Truly beautiful, inspirational paintings. Mesmerising to watch. I’d love to try but will need to source where to get these paints in Australia. Mail is delayed atm. Thanks again. All the best to you. 🦘
Thank you. Right now there is not a source. We work very closely with Derivan who makes most of our products. Just not a retail source there. Our website does ship everywhere though and we are working on Amazon for Australia.
Lovely, lovely painting. I really don't know how you do it - wet in wet, without dragging all the underneath painting in and making it muddy. I presume you're using oils. Are they water mixable or oil oils?! I can't see any description as to the kind of paints you're using.
Patricia Ward he mentions the paints he uses repeatedly in the video. He even linked them to the Amazon site for you to purchase. What is your question?
Hi Amazon sells a lot of our kits. They go in and out of stock. Sometimes it is difficult to anticipate the demand. More are on the way and should be in stock in 2 days.
This is grisaille technique. Not really used with impressionism. It is an indirect technique whereas impressionism is generally direct techniques like alla prima.
I use Heritage Extender. It is designed for the Heritage paints and gives different working properties to the colors. Different companies make different types of extenders depending on the paint formulation.
@@JansenArtEducation thank you..I'm trying to self teach myself in oil paintings . My Rose's aren't going so well..I'm sure I dont have the right brush..they come out looking like flat paint globs..😔
@@teriaflud5663 Oils are completely different. I paint everything is acrylics and like to dry the colors between layers. Oils will mix the layers and give you a different look. If your painting in oils, it is better for you to find an oil teacher on RU-vid that you like. It will be easier for you to do since you paint in oils.
