I've worked at a bar for a while now, all these things are 100% true especially the shit jokes you hear 73 times over

Bars are the worst places to go to meet someone... unless you need someone to be drunk to date you... then it's perfect.

Always get a dry martini. High alcohol content (35-37%), tastes amazing imo and it gives you james bond tier street cred. Only drawback is you should probably wear a suit while drinking it and you won't get a good one unless you're in a fancy bar. So for normal bars stick to straight whisky or beer.

The "beer on the rocks" was absolutely me the first time I went to a bar. My friends instructed me that, whatever I order, to get it on the rocks. Then they talked me into a corona light. As the bartender was getting my friends orders, I remembered the "on the rocks" part... I have yet to live that down, even though I can handle my crappy rum better than most of them. :|

For people wondering what to tip when you go to a bar. General rule is tip AT LEAST 1 dollar per drink, 2 dollars per mixed drink like rume+coke. 3 dollars for something fancy like a long island ice tea or anything else that has a mix of multiple liquors. If you are just ordering plain beer from a bottle then thats where the 1 dollar per drink comes into play. Just make sure you tip if you plan on going back to that bar again. If they see you're a tipper the next time you go, they will get to you faster and they might even give you a drink on the house every now and then. Also if you are going to order more then one drink, please for the love of god open up a tab. Its painless, you just give them your Drivers license and bam, you have a tab. then when you leave you close out your tab and get your license back. If not you will have to pay for each drink they give you, right there on the spot, when you're 4 drinks in trying to fubble with cash and making sure you don't drop the change they give you is just a nightmare.
