In case anyone is wondering, the stripes painted on the scraper wheels are for supervisors to make sure that operators aren’t spinning the tires and subsequently burning up expensive scraper tires (not in the budget).
Totally awesome seeing the earth moving into the belly of the monster! Perfect angle from in front to watch that happen. Amazing it takes two D10's to make things run smoothly. Excellent channel. I subscribed a while back and haven't regretted it since. Cheers.
I just found this viedo I did not know it existed I was the Forman on this job the guy walking around was my grade checker his name was emery he was very good at his job but old and grouchy I seen recently in the union paper that he finally retired I did around 3 more jobs after this one and then retired in 2017.

I worked with Glenn Frasure double pushing with D9gs He told this one scraper hand to raise his apron as high as it would go. So he wouldn't have to look at his ugly face
All them scrappers were repowers and the D10N push cats were repowers to I had 9 or 10 D 10's and 2 D11's on that job the tire bill on that job was over 1 million dollars alot of that rock maby should have been moved with trucks we had sold most of are big rock moving equipment around 2008 when work got real bad and the price of gold went up so much that alot of idle gold mines started to work agin and the big mines bought all are big stuff except are dozers that job was in 2014 and yes we did tend to put the older stuff in the rock but not always the case we were also the pioneers in repowering 651B's and D10N's caterpillar did not even make a repower engine they wanted averybody to by new so the first engine's we used were cat but they were designed for industry work but we were able to make it work and then caterpillar followed anyway that it for now.

Hi Dennis I am glad your doing ok after your hip replacement. I was a field trouble shooter for a construction company in Casper WYOMING, I did most everything but I did mostly ENGINES and fuel systems and TRANSMISSIONS, We normally had jobs going on all over the state of WYOMING. I am retired now after 50 plus years of being a mechanic.
In the right conditions I was able to get a heaped load without turning my head. Just a few peaks in the mirror while getting pushed to see how full I was.
I used to use my left foot on the throttle in the cut and at the dump. You could could turn your hips in the seat more and that helped, but yes a sore neck is part of the gig.
Most of these scrappers are repowered and upgraded by cat to be California compliant, most of the over cab protection was added 20 years after the machine was built. Buildwitt channel recently had a video on it
Interesting. I could see it killing you physically, how mentally? It seems like driving an ADT would be pretty straight forward and easy, but I don't know...I drive a semi on the roads.
@@ceejay960 when you drive a ADT on site doing 70 loads a day, back and forth over the same bumps getting throw around doing noting but back and forth all day its pretty depressing because its so straight forward and easy. thats the issue. your not really doing anything. i hate it. i have got one more week on the job am on then am not driving them for a while. i hate hate lol
Go karts are so boring , lolololll and dangerous after I seen some die on a track with walls after he hit his head on the wall in a crash at 1/2 mile an hour , brain bleed 🩸 killed him, go kart racing is stupid with out cages on tracks that are walled , this fatality was at Willow springs speedway, so I would love to watch scrapers all day compared to that lol praise Jesus Christ grace amen amen 🙏 BigAl California.
